Comments Thread For: Ryabinskiy Approached To Stage Tyson-Holyfield III

According to R-Sport media agency, Andrey Ryabinskiy, a powerful newcomer to the Russian pugilistic community, was approached by some agents to stage the third fight between the sport's youngest heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) and perennial champion and then contender Evander Holyfield (44-10-2, 29 KOs). The contest between two American icons would take place in Moscow, Russia, either as an exhibition or as a real professional match.

    LOL.

This is only interesting if it would be a pro fight, not exhibition. And exactly how likely is that? Holyfield would do it no doubt, but probably not Tyson.

I don't want Mike fighting again. He shouldn't have fought after 1992.
Hopkins will beat the sh** out of him. Sad.

Tyson can still beat anyone if he really wants it. But he doesnt and i doubt it will happen. Like he says himself, hes not that guy anymore that enjoys to knock people out. But if they offered him 30 Million or more, i would do it!

These guys really need this financially. The thing is...they don't need a promoter to do it...they can promote it themselves and keep all the money. Tyson should really step up and grab that cheque while he still can. Holyfield would jump at it in a heart beat. They could make millions and retire with some security. But realistically Tyson really seems far removed from the possibility and has said so many times and it would be really hard for him to get in boxing shape after all these years. Holyfield should train him for it (quietly)...they seem to be really good friends now.

After the last Wlad fight, the Russians seem more open in staging expensive freak shows...

No, he really shouldn't, if he has any self respect.
