Due to the WBC violating their contract by not testing Chavez, Rubio had to be reinstated to where he was ranked before the Chavez fight, which was #2. With Chavez leaving the division, he is now #1. Sergio had an option to take an interim fight as long as it was before sept 15t, so now he must face Rubio. The WBC lost this battle in court, so i think the only way Sergio can fight cotto is by paying Rubio off. Either way rubio will receive big money!

I see the big picture like this: Marquez somehow puts himself together (injured legs, hands and whatsoever), organize a big retirement fight with Cotto in front of a huge audience (probably) at the "Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti" in Buenos Aires... Sergio wins an extremely technical fight and cashes out as a the big legend he is indeed...
