He is not fighting neither. Don't let all this talk fool you. He is throwing those names knowing Cotto and Martinez will fight each other and then claim they both duck him and save face for his next 2 opponents Molina(wich is a good opponent not PPV worthy) and the Víctor Ortiz.

This is great news. Last time he told his handlers he wanted to Trout fight, despite all the pleas from his advisers not to take it, he got the fight.

Cotto vs Canelo would make great sense. Especially with how dominant Cotto looked against Rodriguez. Plus he didn't take any punishment himself in that fight, I could see him ready by March. Lets just hope we get no nonsense between promoters.

Also let's hope that Golden Boy stacks their undercards like they've been doing lately.
Would love to see Danny Garcia on the undercard, as well as Abner Mares or Mathysse.

Last time he called out a name he got it in Trout. Despite all the people here saying he wasn't going to get the fight etc, he got the fight. I don't see why they wouldn't give him a Cotto or Martinez fight.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you. He throws big names out there to get the support of the fans, which is a common tactic (ex: Bob Arum and Manny Pacquaio/Mayweather). However, instead of Cotto and Martinez, he will end up fighting Molina, Ortiz and Alfredo Angulo (in that order) in his next three fights, but he will throw out Cotto and Martinez names out after every fight.

He mops both of them, not because he's so great but because both are shopworn. I guess I'll keep holding out for a Canelo-GGG fight on this island that I'm all by myself on.

had the Williams fight lined up, Williams broke his back. had the Ortiz fight lined up, Victor got his jaw broken. asked for trout when you clowns insisted he would avoid him. Beat him. Asked for Floyd, got beat.

                  your theory is broken.

LOL that number was because of the hype job done by GBP and Floyd, the kid looked good on paper but how many PPV has he done on his own? And to that, Numbers.
Cotto has been fighting world class fighters his whole career. To say its a 50/50 fight on money is just doesn't make sense, at best 60/40 for Cotto as he has always been a draw. Also gave Floyd a decent fight which Canelo did nothing to him.

so what you're saying is, Cotto has fought bigger names, on ppv, had his fight with Floyd promoted and hyped by Floyd and GBP,

and still sold less with Floyd than Canelo did.?

Yea, we know that. Canelo in just his first ppv, did better vs the same exact opponent.
