Showtime is the redheaded stepchild of boxing and I actually like the Showtime crew.

It doesn't feel like a big fight unless it's on HBO.

It just is what it is.

Very foolish words. Ruslan, dedicate yourself to the most money like HBO does. They'll throw you away when you're no longer of any use.

They have to. HBO forced golden boys hand. And now some of these smaller promoters have to choose sides. It's a smart decision for Provodnikov, he gets the exposure he wants on HBO and now doesn't have to worry about the real threats at 140.

How's it very foolish? The only way he gets on Showtime is if he signs with GBP/Haymon, and then it's bye HBO, bye 1m+ viewers

Hope Ruslan continues to make a name for himself. And more big money too.

Ruslan made $600K in his fight with Alvarado. Not bad for a newly christened star in boxing, compared to say, Mares, whose biggest purse so far was his undercard fight in the Mayweather/Guerrero fight which was $300K.

Who would want to go to Showtime if he's already making the kind of money he's making even familiar names like Lara and others don't make.

To be fair, Mares made way more vs Gonzalez, after being embarrassed by Rigo's purse. But you're right he became p4p and a 3 divisional champ without over making 400k
