Ward however did destroy and embarass Froch. Froch doesn't even want the Ward rematch, he talks about it a lot but when it comes down to it he always says he'd rather have a 3rd fight with Kessler. He doesn't want another Ward fight, like you, he'd rather win it outside of the ring by calling Ward's style boring or saying he has the better resume.....all bull**** because Froch and his fans still can't get over that schooling.
I was going to bring this up. In general, you're completely correct. The bottom line is that, regardless of inactivity, Ward is the superior fighter. In terms of the rankings, Ward's inactivity disqualifies him for the time being. But once he blows up Edwin Rodriguez, he belongs back at the top precisely because he wiped out most of the rest of the division, including the clear number two guy (Froch).

Froch is more of a fan's fighter, but Ward dominated him with one hand and beats him ten times out of ten. Nothin' wrong with that, just the way it is.

Only on NSB can a idiot poster start a thread posting fighter B is better than A. When fighter A definitively beat fighter B with one good hand. Fighter A can clean an entire division and be amongst the most avoided... But **** it. Let's start another pointless thread. B is better than A! Just because!

I'm guessing because Ward embarrassed Froch maybe? how about using a bit of common sense..

Inactivity aside, a win against Rodriguez firmly puts Ward in the top 3.

Some may not like his style, and call it ugly but he has faced many styles and always finds a way to win.

Until he loses, it can't really be argued that he's one of the sports best and unless he's injury-prone and becomes less active than he'll remain that way.

I really do think a move to 175 would be the best option for him next though. There's nothing really to prove at 168, and i don't care how lucrative a fight with Chavez Jr or GGG would be, it'd be a farce that us boxing fans would have to try and be convinced that such fights would be competitive.

If he decides to stick to 168, a Froch fight would be the only fight that makes sense no matter how the first fight played out. Froch has more than deserved a rematch (if Ward wants it), and Froch has more options at the weight - so a rematch is not vital. (It is a fight Froch will need to aim for before retirement)

Ward needs to chase fights with Stevensen or Kovalev. Prove his greatness by taking the next step. Conquer another division.

Hahaha....listen to the ts! I thought these guys fought practically the same opponents. They were in a tournament together, of which, Ward won, so how in God's name Froch's better?

Funny thing is, Ward can be the last man ranked, come out of his 1-2 year layoff and still school the **** out of Froch and or anyone Froch has ever fought.

Why does anyone care what Ward is ranked? He was ranked higher than Froch when he was active. It won't take long for him to rank higher than Froch once he becomes active again. I mean Ward is the better fighter and would be easily favored over any SMW right now.

Fans are actually wanting him to move up to LHW for an actual challenge.

Me included. Just a shame Ward isn't as eager.
