Never said that, course he was. Also clearly said a chin doesn't 100% go, like some conveniently almost infer.

never said tyson was invincible. he had his vulnerabilities but lewis also had vulnerabilites. btw,,,I didnt say lewis had a bad chin. I think its actually underrated but it wasnt as strong as tysons. like I said,,,if lewis made it past the 6th round I think he wins the fight but I slighlty lean to tyson getting him out of there before it gets that far. it is debatable but were all entitled to our opinions. glad to see the poll is so close becuz it is a tough one to call
Nor did I but in all reality, Tyson still has a massive eer of respect and invincibility, not dissimilar to Ali. I love Ali and he warrants it more, but even he is heralded as invincible at times and it gets unrealistic.

Lewis only got knocked out by tall rangey guys above 6"2 with good power, were big shots, and he avenged them.

I know Tyson was a beast, quick, powerful, but I simply don't see him getting to someone like Lennox. It's more wishful thinking than anything imo. I respect your post though, and agree with the latter part.

Prime Tyson (87-89) wasn't prone to give up on himself mentally/spiritually (until the Douglas debacle). Prime Lewis, a lethal boxer/puncher, still had that china-glass chin, which twice let him down versus Rahman and McCall.

Drawing that suspect chin vs a murderous offensive fighter, I'd have to give Tyson a punchers chance with his bob and weave combinations and overhand rights. If Lennox can protect his chin with a strong jab and range, I'd favour him with upper cuts and straight right hands.

        75-25 Lewis.

Lennox was a great boxer, but was suseptable to one punchs ko, against the likes of Rahman and Mcall.

It is 50, 50 I would say. But Tyrell biggs said Tyson was the best he fought. So although you certainly can make a case for LL, you can make a case for Tyson.

Lewis was the best of that era. I understand people love to make Tyson this invincible monster, but he would get slept by Lewis.

Of course he had a punchers chance but Lewis was a much better fighter.
Tyson was a shell of his former self when he was KO'd by Lewis late in the fight. A prime Tyson was very difficult to catch, and mentally was more driven, not just fighting for the money.

I dont see Lewis KOing him.

I think Lewis had a good chance, but prime Tyson was very fast, very dangerous and Lewis would get drawn into a fight, getting caught on the inside with combinations. Lewis didnt have the best stamina and could get lazy, dropping his hands.

He would be under too much pressure in every round and never threw that many punches. Douglas had a better work rate.
I think Tyson wears him down and KO's him with a combo between 7-9. Slipping Lewis's jab, countering, landing big to the body. And using uppercuts when Lewis tries to clinch.

I'd give the nod to LL.

I love the dynamic's of a young Iron Mike.

But too much offensive firepower coming back, from a big guy. Jab, right hand, uppercut.

If somebody did a simulation fight on their PS14, and Tyson slipped a jab, and knocked Lewis cold with a left hook, I wouldn't disagree.

He wasn't the invincible he was and is made out to be.
I think its close. But Tyson had a better chin, possibly better defence, could slip those jabs and more importantly throw great counters.

Plus, prime Lennox got KTFO twice. I think Tyson recovers from Lewis's best shot. I dont think Lewis recovers from a Tyson bomb.

About as close of a poll as you will see on here, at this time.
