This past weekend in Orlando, Fl., Cotto returned to HBO’s airwaves with a scintillating stoppage over Delvin Rodriguez in the third round. Cotto was in rare form, as he ripped the Dominican’s body relentlessly while breaking him down with sharp, powerful blows.

After having two fights co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in 2012, Cotto returned to work with Top Rank, his original promoter dating back to his pro debut in 2001, for the Rodriguez match and it looks like a strong possibility that he will finish his career with the company. Are people stil trying to pretendhat the Cotto-Mayweather fight was clse? That was a blow out 10-2 or 9-3 at absolute worst. Cotto hit Mayweather wth a couple good straight lefts, one of which blodid his nose, big deal. The fight was a blowout.

If you are talking about FMJ/Cotto, that may be true but if you are talking about FMJ/Pac rivalry is dead, you couldn't be more wrong if you said the Sun was green. Not only do pages and pages still continue over the rivalry over every detail, but the fight would still be one of the highest grossing fights of all time IF Pac beat Rios.

If Floyd and Pac still wanna fight each other, more power to em. I'll probably watch. But beating Rios doesmt do a damn thing as far righting what's wrong in Pac's career right now.

yeah but there are 15 posters with 30-35 post in each thread so its not that accurate. Casual fans want to see the fight, no question. I think a fair percentage of diehard fans have moved on. I'd like to still see it.

Put Floyd in with Garcia and he'll look just as impressive.

Some fans still wants Mayweather-Pacquiao to happen, why not put all of your effort in making that fight happen instead of a recycling fight, Bob?
But Cotto wasn't at all aggressive. He tried to box with Floyd, and actually did a respectable job of it. He even busted Floyd's nose up. No one has hit Floyd as much as Cotto did, and Cotto certainly didn't use his old bully & bull style to attack Mayweather's body.

I think if he took a more aggressive approach, he'd put on an even better show. Just because Jr. beat him once doesn't mean it isn't worth a rematch. It was a good fight and generated a lot of money for the folks involved. Mayweather showed a ton of respect to Miguel afterwards too.
