Hatton was undisputed at 140 and a former titleholder at 147 who came into the ring outweighing Floyd. He was widely perceived as a major threat to Mayweather. Period.

You should have stopped at "Hatton was undisputed at 140". Hatton could not do to 147 fighters what he could have done at a relatively much easier way at 140 for a full 12 rounds, if required. If you understand what I just wrote then you will get it. Yeah, I watched the Collazo fight live. Why are you knocking Mayweather for fighting the undisputed 140 champ in a major money fight? If Canelo would've beaten Mayweather, would you downplay him because Floyd came up in weight?

What? Canelo fight was at a CW. Hatton had to go all the way up to 147. It was Floyd's 3rd fight at 154. Floyd held a title and was #1 P4P fighter.

BUT the most important thing is the way Hatton fights, he needs the "physical" advantages. Floyd's style is different and Canelo was tailor made for him.


Again, Hatton's best fighting weight was at 140 because what he can do there was much more difficult to do against the bigger boys at 147. It's not rocket science, man!
