Is Vrigil Hunter a Fraud?

I think the guy is a fraud, overrated and is very lucky to have Andre Ward as a fighter.

Ward is a talented boxer, Hunter trains him but Ward would have reached his success without Hunter but Hunter would not have been trainer of the year without Ward.

Virgil Hunter won trainer of the year in 2011 of the back of Ward Super 6 success.

He became much sought after this taken on fighters such as Berto, Khan and Angulo, pretending he is some kind of defensive guru that make them into great fighters.

If anything all 3 men have gone backwards under Hunter, through their style and conditioning.

I don't like Hunter's attitude as well, he thinks he is the star, taken none of the blame for his boxer's poor performance and believes his own hype.


I remember seeing a Khan fight and Hunter would not even have the decency to get into the ring to talk his fighter in between rounds.

I hope Ward wises up and leaves Hunter so he can improve as a fighter.

And Khan, Berto and Angulo, get out while you still can, or you all could be out of the game for good under Hunter's guidance.

I think he's a little delusional about some things Like khan getting tripped when Diaz kd him. Angulo getting thumbed. Lucas taking some pills lol. Or maybe just paranoid but he has the right mindset he just has dumb fighters minus ward

Enzo Calzaghe trained Joe, all his life, doesn't mean that Enzo is a great trainer, his son just happened to be a great boxer.

He is their trainer, you make them listen, if they can't do something, you find your way around it.

All of Roach's fighters don't fight the same, they all have different strengths and weakeness, and Roach take those into account when he trains them and comes up with a plan.

And with Roach and other top trainers it always we did this or we are going to do that, with Hunter it is Amir didn't this and he will have to this.

yeah hes a fraud, never been in the ring. but he puts the time in so whatever
