anybody can criticize golovkin's resume or how he is getting overhyped and **** but the guy is more than willing to fight anybody at his weight and that's all that matters.

he's not even asking for too much money, he just want to fight. golovkin is the kind of fighter that boxing fans should rally behind.

You say GGG hasn't done crap but then what great feats has Stevens accomplished to make you foam at the mouth lusting for him to win??? I bet you dont answer this!

You can get a lot of even matchups in Boxing that are boring, but this will not be. Stevens talked his way into this and now has to deliver. If he makes it a back and forth where he and GGG are hurt, he will have sold himself well and backed up his words win or lose. I think GGG will box from the outside and not exchange and slowly wear down Stevens and then when it is safe, go in for the kill. But I would not be shocked if Stevens lands the big one. Nothing shocks me. But GGG's pedegree allows him more options inside those ropes. His best bet is not to see if he has a great chin, but to avoid getting hit with bombs. You cant let your guard down for a moment against Stevens.
              Good post.

Stevens should understand where you're coming from and stay on his toes, keeping his head on a swivel as his closes the distance with a educated double and triple jab. Get those inside positions established with ring generalship and a seasoned clinch game then rip off vicious combinations of uppercuts and body shots - but keeping his head down

Left uppercut, right uppercut, left hook

I can imagine Stevens could finish GGG with his heavy left hook to the liver after he fires off some speed shots upstairs - Round 2

Been saying since it was signed, GGG KO 1. Not a big GGG fan by any means, but Stevens seems to have angered him with the coffin stunt.

It's clear that GGG still has a lot to prove as a professional fighter, but I believe he is the real deal. I would add that Stevens does have a shot in this fight given his power. However, I'd be surprised if GGG lost given that he himself has great pop, but also the superior boxing skills/technique from everything I've observed of the two.

GGG has yet to really be hurt in a professional fight (and apparently in 350 amateur fights as well), but anything is possible especially since Stevens is likely the biggest puncher he has faced thus far.

Pretty silly how some people hate Golovkin due to his fans. And then to justify the hate they ask who has he beaten, wheres his resume, etc, etc. All while ignoring the fact that this man is an Amateur World champion, Olympic silver medalist, is humble as can be, willing to fight ANYONE, willing to fight anyone for 1/3rd of the money that true hypejobs like Berto get, willing and wanting to fight 5 times a year.

With all that being said, I don't care much for this particular matchup. Looking forward to seeing GGG back in action and this one could be fireworks since both are dynamic punchers. But lets be honest, all the haters, like this guy ^ Flint, say they want Stevens to win, etc.... But IF Golovkin wins, he will get absolutely no credit and this will be another bum on his "resume" (calm down haters, GGG does not have a resume yet) Stevens lost to Brinkley, etc.

As a Golovkin fan, I see no reason for this fight, whatsoever. I would of prefered a legit top 10 guy like Murray. But I guess you take what you can get, he just wants to fight. But I do view this as a stay-busy fight and maybe, just maybe he will get credit (if he wins) for beating a guy who is undefeated in the division, can punch and will bring the fight to Golovkin. Besides that, Stevens is very limited and brings nothing to the table besides a big mouth.

Golovkin is being over hyped that's a fact.

does it mean Golovkin isn't good? not at all. Golovkin is beating people he's supposed to beat and he has done it in good fashion for the most part. is GGG p4p material? who knows, that remains to be seen.

Roizer is correct about him being pushed hard, Kellerman has basically anointed him, fair or not only time will tell.

Stevens is a quality opponent and based on styles it should be a great fight. people like to bring up he Findlay fight, showing that Stevens is a bum but people often forget that "styles make fights"

Stevens is horrible and totally confused against guys who box him. Stevens is a slugger so any boxer who uses movement and angles will make him look terrible.

what makes this fight interesting is Golovkin doesn't really do any of that. He's a front foot forward highly aggressive fighter. He'll be right in front of Stevens, which is what Stevens wants and needs.

I suspect this fight will be a poor man's version of Foreman v Frazier.

it's a good fight no matter if you like GGG or not.
