Sad to say but Hopkins took too many punches to the head if he said this. I don't think Mayweather has passed Hopkins.

If Floyd can use great head and feet movement, defense, speed, great chin etc against this era, then he could do it against other eras.
He would be hard to beat in any era.
Duran aint walking through Mayweather. Neither is SRR. Neither is SRL. Not Pryor, Chavez, Pep, Gans, Tito,Sweet Pea, Hearns, Benitez and I could keep going.
No one is making easy work of Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr. Not happening. Hes too smart.

To make fighters miss like that is insane.
He never fights the same way..ever. You are 100% right every Floyd fight looks different. He has so many dimensions and levels to his fight game is not even fair. Then you add his reach, defense, relexes, instincts and smarts. Its just not fair. Hes a beast.

Top 10 definitely! Top 5 Probably. Top 3? Maybe.
Things have changed, I had Floyd top 10 before this fight, probably top 5 after it. Even the most ardent Floyd haters are now admitting he's at least top 10. We are witnessing greatness. As for Duran, FLoyd easily is better. Hearns was one of my favorites and his style gives Floyd some problems, but I think he'd figure him out and win a decision. Leonard and Mayweather would have been a great matchup, could go either way. Both are top 5 all time guys.
Bottom line, he's top 10 at least, he has 4 more fights, I'd guess 2 of them will be against overmatched guys and 2 will be against really tough fighters, he wins out and retires 49-0 or has one more fight to go 50-0 and he will have a case for being #1 all time, yes, even ahead of SRR.

Bhop seems to be angling for the floyd fight here. Floyd did show him much respect at the press conference after the fight so maybe he is just returning the favor because the 2 of them are not pals. I still think Bhop sees a chance to make $5-8 mil.
FWIW, its probably time to stop with all the not in the top 20 crap. I don't think beating Canelo elevates floyd in any way. I think the way he conducted himself pre and post fight, the way he handled questions, and his willingness to give Canelo the "bump" (he'll be the man in 2 years) has placed the focus solely on his skills and not the other stuff.
I think when you just look at who he fought and the skills he displayed in beating them, its time for even the scumiest haters on NSB to be honest that there are not many boxers who have fought that are better than floyd.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 09-17-2013, 10:14 AM.

Oh snapz! Good looking out by Hopkins. Darn right Floyd is top 3. At the least top 5 all-time. Definitely the best I've ever seen do it and I'm a big fan of the old legends like SRL, Duran, and Hearns. About time guys give him his props.
