I wouldn't call him a hype job but he hasn't taken on a serious threat since he fought an undefeated Ricky Hatton. Canelo is definitely a threat but he is relatively in experienced and ripe for the picking.

Sven Ottke and Joe Calz were unbeaten too and like Floyd spent the vast majority of their careers taking the path of least resistance.

canelo is going to get exposed for the media hype job he is...if you want to look at the definition of a hype job look at canelo ..a guy who has only ONE good/legit win but is getting all these big money fights in the US (even for fighting bums), is somehow the ring champ at 154, is top ten p4p by ring ****zine, people overrate his power, and the media and some people keep acting like this is the fight of the century..it's going to be the biggest one-sided beatdown of the century maybe..Last edited by Bermuda; 08-20-2013, 11:24 AM.

You can't really call Mayweather a hype job, cuz he is proven. If he lost that De La Hoya fight he would of just been a hype job...
Now, Canelo is in the same spot as Mayweather was against De La Hoya.
Only thing is Canelo hasn't fought anyone worthy except an old as dirt Mosley
