I'd like to see it happen too. Martinez could have taken a knee 8 times against Chavez and he still would have won. There was only 75 seconds left so he could have spent the entire time on his knee and out of danger until the bell. It would have been hilarious.

The ref stopping the fight for taking multiple knees would be bull****. I'd understand if the fighter was way behind on the scorecards and had no chance of winning. But if the fighter is way ahead, the ref should be smart enough to know what the fighter is doing.

When people don't take knees, people always blame inexperience. I don't ever even see experience fighters do it though. It seems like something that should be drilled into a fighters head in the gym. It should be standard boxing 101. I think Khan against Garcia should have given it a try for example.

i dont...that would make it cheesy...guy taking knees because he's already ahead? i dont wanna watch that ****

a fighter going after the kill when its front of him is one of the, if not the most exciting part of boxing

I doubt he had enough of his senses to take a knee....he may have been to hurt to make a critical thought out decision like that. Hard to say.

EDIT: My math is wrong. Forgot to count the last round. He could taken a knee 4 times.
Trainers do tell them that. But when you're in a fight, sometimes you get hit so hard that the mind does not think about that stuff. The body just responds to the harm. Sometimes guys are so out of it that they even take more punishment than they should. Pride can sometimes be a factor too. Probably the biggest factor.
