    Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar de la Hoya is convinced that WBC/WBA junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) can beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The two fighters are taking part in ongoing eleven city promotional tour. De La Hoya disagrees with Mayweather's recent comments that Canelo built his name, and his fan base, by fighting on Mayweather's pay-per-view events. Acccording to De La Hoya, most of the fans who are attending the public promotional tour - are fans of Canelo.

      Canelo has more fans than Mayweather, everyone knows that.

      I think it was brilliant how Canelo ditched Mayweather in his last fight and in his own main event put 40k asses in paid seats. That showed floyd who does numbers.

        Nothing new, Mayweather has never had a big traveling support. 90% of the arena was Brits when he fought Hatton. He does sell buckets of PPV's though which Canelo has yet to do.

          Mayweather could do that if 11,000 of the tickets were $10 like they were for the Canelo fight.

            albvared is suppose to draw more. the bigger the draw. the bigger mayweathers check will be. and the funny thing about it all is that alvared is going to lose.

                Agreed. Mayweather is going to school this kid. Alvarez is vastly overrated and is popular mostly due to the fact that he has white skin, red hair and freckles. Not even trying to hate, real talk. A lot of hype for such few achievements with this kid.
