Based on this, I expect Canelo to win about 5 rounds. He might even pull off the upset.
Canelo is only an inch taller than Cotto, he and Floyd are basically the same height as you can see from the photos. Showtime had Canelo standing at 5'7 1/2 not the 5'9 that boxrec has him at.

And to the OP, No this fight won't look like Chavez jr. vs Martinez. Chavez overlooked Martinez and Canelo is an all around better boxer than Chavez. However, Floyd is fresher and a better boxer than Martinez so it is possible we could see a dominating performance. But I don't expect that, I expect a competitive fight where Floyd wins a close but clear decision.

I see 8 rounds to 4 for Floyd. I think late in the fight Canelo will get frustrated and stop throwing. I would love to see Floyd open up more and look for the KO.

Floyd "Hardwork Dedication...oh and catchweights" Mayweather will of course be in supreme physical condition for this fight. As always.

His goal will be to keep it even while simultaneously making Saul work harder than he wants to.

After 6 or 7 rounds (maybe less if Floyd goes to the body alot) Canelo will gas and then PBF (oh and catchweights) will start lighting him up pretty much at will.

However, ever mindful of risk, Money (oh and catchweights too) will fail to press his advantage and Alvarez will see the final bell but lose a wide UD.

On the other hand, Canelo is skilled and strong and confident.

If he magically develops great stamina to go along with it, despite having to cut an extra couple of pounds, then I can see him being a legit threat to Floyd & catchweights.

But imo, that's a pretty big if.

I think Canelo will win, it might be a struggle though, Floyd is no push-over, I always thought Trout was a great boxer and see what Canelo did to him, Trout = last 3 Floyd opps.

This is a 50/50 fight, a toss up

Exactly, what I'm confused by is why people think Canelo is some big come forward pressure fighter....he's not and he gasses easy enough as it is.... if he tries to turn into one for this fight it'll be bad bad news.

What I'm saying is, does anyone else think Floyd will have a relatively easy time with Canelo unless the young one shows something brand spankin' new come fight night?
I think your going to be surprised

What exactly did Canelo do to Trout? Explain...

He won't have to. Gasnelo doesn't apply that level of pressure

At least somebody gets it. They swear size alone is good enough to pressure a fighter...

If Canelo doesn't somehow upgrade his stamina he will be getting his ass tore up. ALL. NIGHT. LONG.
