How can anyone say that fight was fixed? Banks almost knocked Mitchell the fugg out twice! He was very clearly trying to take his head off. I think Banks just has crap stamina, blew his load a bit on the exchanges where Mitchell was hurt and was getting fatigued from the body work Mitchell was putting in.

With that said, I was impressed with how Mitchell overcame adversity this time around. He recovered well and you literally watch him grow and gain valuable experience right before our eyes. Stands no chance against any top HW, unfortuantely.

      Snoozer. Banks looked horrible.

Has there been any kind of official statement about why Banks stopped punching? I really don't get what happened.

someone needs to take a long, hard look at Banks' "performance" in this fight -- the few times that he tried to do anything in this fight, he hurt Mitchell and then immediately backed off -- then did nothing in the next round to follow up, even though Mitchell came out wobbly -- after the 5th round, Banks simply stopped punching completely, never responded to being touched by Mitchell and basically went into a shell for no apparent reason -- seemed uninterested and dispirited going back to his corner after every round -- Mitchell seems well connected in the sport and there is a lot of money riding on his remaining viable as a contender type -- this needs to be investigated....

they were both tired -- neither has great stamina -- doesn't account for Banks' complete refusal to make any attempt to win this fight after the 5th round, his refusal to go after Mitchell the few times he clearly hurt him early on, his refusal to throw a meaningful and purposeful punch after the 5th round, his apathy and disinterest throughout what should have been his ticket to bigger money fights....

this fight reminded me a lot of Cotto-Clottey -- remember that one? -- Clotty dominated the first 6 rounds, was busting Cotto up and then mysteriously stopped throwing hard punches, basically did nothing for the rest of the fight even though he didn't appear to be tired or hurt in any way -- and was barely heard from again after the fight

What the hell was Bank's game plan? Was he trying to bore Mitchell into a knock out? Who knows maybe there were great odds on the fight not going the distance and banks bet all his birthday money on that fact.

This is one of the most obvious fixed fights I have seen in, well ever. My wife walked out after round 5 because she noticed the fix even before the rest of us did. Then Banks' attitude, coupled.with.the disgust that his corner men were showing rounds 7-12. The corner men refused to talk to him round 12 and just kinda threw the stool in the ring. It was a disgrace.
