Floyd is fighting a weight classes he's been at briefly against Oscar and Cotto, the fight is a CW of 152, which Canelo can easily make and has said will be no problem making. No one is going to be thinking CW when Canelo walks into the ring at 170+
    Here's yet another difference:

Pac asks for a CW moving up in weight, when it's absolutely doubtful if he can handle the weight. He probably would have been 8-1 underdog to Cotto 12 months prior (Floyd opposite vs Canelo). If he can handle the weight, he'll defend his CW belt at full weight, as a champ is expected to. If he can't, he drops the belt on the spot.

Floyd is a 2x and current champ, rated #1 contender. Fighting for the Lineal (or what you wanna call it) SWW belt at 152. Is it unfair to assume that if he wins, if you wanna be The Man at 154, you'll have to prove it at 152? Provided a near prime, full sized challenger, of course, the likes of Cotto get to feel comfortable.

CWs moving up is a time honored practice, a necessary evil. Partial credit to the little if he wins. But these champs asking for CWs, there's less than a handful and all poster boy for paper belts. Other than Floyd of course, his is beyond reproach

Floyd did contradict himself when he asked Canelo for a catchweight...but so has every other person in the world at some point in time...it's called being human. What, Floyd's not allowed to change his mind?

Either way, It still does not take away from the fact that this is a great fight and will be a huge challenge for both fighters.
