A real boxing fan can spot the fake a mile away. Experienced fans are not going to be blinded by gimmicks and showcase fights like other people are. Truly great fighters don't duck and dodge anybody win or lose. That's what the best boxing is all about and know amount of hype and promotion can make robert guerrero or sharmba mitchell or a shot Mosley the test of a true champion.

Write offs huh? With an earned income of millions I bet Floyd doesn't keep his mortgage high (that would be a big write off) which is perhaps the biggest write off. Learn what you are speaking about before you jump over here.....You obviously are lacking knowledge about the scale one deals with regarding such a high income...The proof is the pudding, there is a large preponderance of broke pro athletes who earned a small fortune and it is not because they are:
a) ****** b) greedy c) ripped off by their entourage, etc.

Who turns down $40 million to fight Floyd when your usually making half that?
If these reports are true, then this is the inglorious sight of fading wealth and fame. It's pretty tragic actually but how many fighters have succumb to bad judgement?

If you replace hookers with strippers and buying elections with buying bentleys, that sounds just like some fighter I know. Except that guy makes much much more.
The vast majority of these guys find it very earth shattering when they find out their tax burdens....Case in point the Filipines pursuing Manny over the tax bill. The legal fees, the late fees, the lack of decency that these bill collectors for the elites have for people virtually guarantees that no matter how loved, how obvious that the athlete was not directly responsible....the IRS up until recently would not give options to pay back fees. They treated Joe Louis like a common hood when like a lot of fighters, management fees, the dishonesty of others, and perhaps a few toys, virtually guaranteed financial downfall.
Most financial institutions are forced to wait to get paid...the IRS still uses what amounts to debtors prison. People should pay their debt, but it should be worked out so they are not financially ruined doing it.
