Conveniently ignore the fact that USADA tested Armstrong clean for 10 years before deciding "oops! You know what? He was dirty all along" GTFOH.

USADA/WADA tested Marion Jones 150 times before catching her. It took them a decade to catch Armstrong.

Still, they've got Memo Heredia on their side, he describes himself as "more of a USADA guy".

Because they didn't notify them when Peterson tested positive. VADA didn't inform anyone besides Peterson himself. They kept silent about the positive until it was too late for Golden Boy to play damage control. Golden Boy ended up losing a lot of money. Keep in mind that Golden Boy was also PAYING VADA for the testing too. Golden Boy at the time preferred VADA because they were cheaper than USADA. The Commission didn't know about Peterson's positive until the last minute too.

VADA completely dropped the ball with it. It's understandable though because it was the first time they had dealt with such an incident. And as a new organization, like any new business, a lot of innocent mistakes will be made in the beginning.

GB had to scrap the entire promotion, including the undercard.
well lamont and his team could have informed GBP after it was revealed that his A sample tested positive for steroids but he didn't.. they [lamont and his team] instead decided to get his B sample immediately tested..and when that also came back positive then the Nevada State Athletic Commission was notified of it.

it's all part of a privacy/confidentiality agreement with the fighter...

Once Peterson was informed of his “A’” sample testing positive, he could have gone to Golden Boy and HBO and informed them of his plans to have the “B” sample tested and his name cleared. That was his right. His team chose not to and instead moved forward testing the “B” sample in hopes it would not come back positive. It did.

“It appears as though Mr. Peterson and Mr. Fried also chose not to notify third parties at that time in the hope that Mr. Peterson’s “B” sample would test negative,” continued Dr. Goodman. “As soon as Mr. Peterson’s “B” sample tested positive, VADA notified Mr. Peterson, Mr. Fried, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Lance Armstrong ran a very sophisticated doping program. He was not an amateur whatsoever, and he had professional doctors/trainers helping him. Keep in mind that back then, testing was much weaker. It wasn't nearly as strong as it is now. And despite that, Lance Armstrong was actually caught with a positive result before. But he would get out of it by getting doctors to falsely prescribe him medication so that he had an excuse for the positive. He knew how to hide from testers, he did all sorts of things.

Ok but they did what they're supposed to do and caught the cheater.. Isn't that a good thing? I'm pretty sure they had to run further testing to be absolutely positive before notifying everyone. I think it's better to lose a little money then for a fighter to be put in an unsafe situation.

Lamont and his team could have done that, but it was Golden Boy that was paying for the testing. And Golden Boy preferred VADA more than USADA at the time because of expense. It was only for Floyd's fights that USADA was going to be used.

Anyhow, the reason Dr. Goodman of VADA didn't inform Golden Boy was because she claims they didn't sign and return a contract that would give them the rights to results. But when Golden Boy is footing the bill for the testing, and when she knows this is a business where lots of money is involved, the most professional thing to do would have been to tell Golden Boy immediately at the time Peterson was informed.

VADA learned a valuable lesson through this incident.
