of the 3 guys you named, pacquiao has lost to 2 of them...

corrales was undefeated and ranked higher on p4p when floyd beat the **** out of him. that matters.

jmm is a moot point since floyd is the only one to have beaten jmm into submission. i suppose you could say chris john had a clear victory as well. unlike pacquiao who, even in winning 2 fights, lots consider him 0-4 against jmm. a point i disagree with as i thought jmm won the 2nd fight, lost the 3rd and the 1st was probably correct as a draw. also, floyd was not sent into a coma by jmm. this also matters when we're comparing fights between fighters in common.

MAB and Morales are legit. But he also lost to the closer to prime version of morales. i get that manny beat him but the losses count, they dont just disappear off the record just because you win a rematch. although the two versions of morales that he ko'ed werent bad, you also have to consider that in the span of 6 fights during that period, morales went 1-5... it's great that he beat them but you need to take those losses into account as well. MAB is legit. but if we're talking about HOF candidates, he beat Gatti who is actually in the HOF. now i understand you would argue he shouldnt be in there and i have no doubt that pacquiao would have beaten him too but as it stands, floyd moved up to his weight class and destroyed him.

but like i said, if you look at his last 10 fights, it's all against the top contenders. take out pacquiao's name and everyone he has fought were at the top of their divisions. so i dont know what you guys really want him to do. like with this fight against guerrero, is guerrero not the top welterweight right now? i dont understand how floyd is ducking everyone if every fight he's been in is against a top contender and/or a champion. i know he hasnt fought pacquiao but that's more due to bob arum hating him and top rank vs. golden boy isnt it?

whats wrong with baldomir? we're not talking the version that fought alvarez, we're talking the one that was undefeated for 8 years with some quality wins. had he paid his sanctioning fees he would have had 3 of the 4 major belts...forgot which ones though as that was a while ago. the fight with mayweather was for the ring belt as well. baldomir was recognized as the true welterweight champion at the time was he not?

He doesn't fight enough, and when he does, it's against underwhelming comp. They're all good fighters' but there's bigger challenges out there. Like right now, there's any number of fights for him at 154 better than Guerrero. And it's not asking for that much, he's 2x champ at 154, currently ranked #1. That's his 5th division. Even Marquez took exactly those kinds of risky fights in his 5th.

Not hating on Floyd, but I agree with this. He has no interest in Canelo. I don't see the fight happening, period. But I would be so happy if I were wrong, and gladly eat my words.

baldomir, dlh in dlh's weight class, undefeated ricky hatton all in succession. i dont see where he's ducking. if you look at this opponents since 2006 they're all near the top of their divisions. baldomir was for the ring title. dlh is royalty and wasn't weight drained. ricky hatton was undefeated, marquez is marquez.

then you look at his 3 recent fights, mosley was the top welterweight. after floyd took that sabbatical the lineal title was vacant. it was between margarito, cotto, mosley as to who would win it as pacquiao had not arrived at welterweight yet. margarito beat cotto and should have won the ring belt, but mosley beat him so he should have had it. even if you rank him behind pacquiao he's #2 contender. then ortiz beat berto and was ranked number 2. floyd then went up to a higher weight class and fought as an undersized jr. middleweight (151 on fight night) and beat cotto for his belt. now, after pacquiao was defeated he's fighting the #1 welterweight in guerrero and enough of you guys are saying guerrero might beat him. so how can people say he's ducking and taking on weak opponents while at the same time saying that the guy he's fighting next might beat him? i dont get it, it's not just with this fight either, so many times he fought and guys said he'd lose. then when he wins everyone forgets about it and because he dominated, say he chose a weak opponent. it actually does get ridiculous sometimes, i dont know what you guy wants him to do.

dont tell me manny has a better resume since him and floyd have pretty much been fighting the same guys the last few year. and pacquiao's victories from earlier on his career do not match floyd's victories over corrales, hernandez, castillo.

you can say floyd is ducking manny all you want but as we all know it is a top rank vs. golden boy thing, or more specifically, bob arum hating floyd mayweather. everyone criticized floyd for not fighting cotto, he had that fight lined up then bob offered him less money to fight margarito after so floyd left top rank and bob blocked the fight. after cotto became a free agent on January 1st, 2012, floyd made a fight with him in a week. this was the same fight that bob was trying to make for pacquiao for the previous 3 months. floyd got it done in a week or two and agreed to go up to cotto's weight while pacquiao absolutely refused. so you can call floyd out for ducking all you want but that **** goes both ways, pacquiao absolutely refused to go up to 154. and his belt in his "8th" weight class is bogus. you are not a champion at 154 if you fight for the belt at 150 against someone who wasn't even the champion then vacate the belt without defending it. GTFO.
              Great post

Stronger resume? They fought some of the same fighters. Pac got famous off of Floyds leftovers pretty much. And risk averse. What about pacquiao? When he made DLH, Cotto, and Margarito go down in weight wasnt that him being risk aversed? If he was so great and confident he would have fought them at that weight limit. to my knowledge floyd has only done that to one fighter which was marquez, who had to come up in weight. I say Floyd has the better resume. The reason why I say that is because between their opponents, Floyd had fought when they were in better physical shape then pacquiao did. Just saying.

Floyd has been a welter for years, started much higher than Pac. Pac had wins over 3 ATGs before ever hitting LW. Just one year before the Cotto fight he probably would have been near 10-1 underdog to Cotto. When he moved up to welter, the rest of the top 5 was Mosley, Cotto, Marg, Clottey. He trounced them back to back, in 18 months. Compare Floyd's 18 month output any time since his unretirement.

Very true. So its safe to say pacquiao was more active then floyd. That doesnt necessarily make him a better fighter.

Eerything you said is true, but sadly, you're wasting your time and perfect logic on a smokescreen of hatred that 98% of this site, including a good protion of the "writers" have for Mayweather. It is ridiculous, but like I've said to close friends, Mayweather's fights and talent won't be appreciated until 20 yeas after his retirement.
