Comments Thread For: Andre Ward Discusses Possibility of Gennady Golovkin

BoxingScene recently reported that Andre Ward is looking to land a big fight with Mexican superstar Julio Cesar Chavez Jr as he’s trying to get the biggest and best names in the ring. Ward has been stellar as he’s dominated a talented Super Middleweight division but he’s on the search of more opponents to put on his ledger as he’s already defeated most of the top names.

While Ward is looking towards Chavez Jr’s direction, one name fight fans continuously bring up is Gennady Golovkin. Golovkin is coming off a monstrous knockout victory over Nobuhiro Ishida this past Saturday night as he knocked his Japanese opponent out cold in the 3rd round of their bout. 3G would break Ward down with his power and jab. Ward doesn't want it because there isn't enough money involved yet.

Nobody wants none from 200-154, GGG would have to retire because no one wants it. I mean he brings a monstrous payday too and a resume second to none and still no one wants none, Macklin is also a coward for not fighting GGG and I bet he is just lying that he would fight GGG in June.

Not at all, just like he wasn't lying when he said he wasn't ready for him the last couple of times. We just took him at his word, is all.

Nope he has to fight GGG when GGG wants not when Macklin think he is ready to, as you know this is about GGG and GGG alone no one else.

Then Floyd Macklin should post his calendar publicly, so that the champs and HBO can plan around it months in advance.

Did you notice he fought a week after GGG Proksa, for a 3 times smaller purse? You notice he's been shooting for a Chavez and Geale shot in the same timeframe as GGG's next date, but no tuneup scheduled for these champs?

If GGG dismantles Macklin in less time than Sergio, and makes it look easy, will you guys change your opinion?

I personally don't think he can, but I might change my tune on the guy.

Yea like I said its all about GGG, their futures depends on GGG since he is the cashcow like Mayweather, he shouldn't look at anyone else that might make him more money than GGG since GGG brings the biggest payday. He ducking doe..
