Of course it is a cherry pick. Malignaggi carries a title and a name but proposes minimal risk because he's 1) Not a natural welterweight, 2) Passed his physical prime and 3) Cannot hit that hard. You can't get a finer cherry to pick for a young fighter moving up in weight.

Once he has the strap they'll probably go the Canelo route [before 2013] and match him with blown up Jr Welterweights or Welterweights who do nothing to justify the product they're trying to shove down people's throat.

He is the Weakest Champion at 147 but regardless he is still a Champion, I always been a Paulie Fan and if a lot of you say Miguel Vazquez would give Broner Problems then I don't see why Paulie can't do the same at 147...granted he is not the same 140 Prime Paulie but he is still a pretty smart fighter, for Broner he is still somewhat a STEP UP because Paulie would box circles around all of Broner's Previous Opponents

I get it that a lot of you are just at the point now in which you just want to see someone shut Broner Up so you don't want to see him in any "WINNABLE FIGHTS" but at the same time it is only ONE FIGHT, the guy is 23 years Old and not even at his Peak as a fighter yet, all of those fighters you want him to fight could still happen eventually, people are acting as if this is the last fight of his career and after the Paulie fight he will retire

His last fight he jumped up to 135 and took on the #1 Guy in that Division so I am not sure how one fight makes a guy a "CHERRY PICKER", what he does after the Paulie fight (IF HE WINS OF COURSE) will be more interesting, does he move back down maybe fight the winner of that 140 GBP Tournament, we all would love to see him fight Rios but we know due to Promoters that is not going to

Broner is not going anywhere anytime soon, it is plenty of time for all those fights to eventually happen and with most of them at 140 being with GBP all those fights will eventually happen...me personally I think he should have stayed at 135 maybe fight Abril, Vazquez (if possible) next or just wait for Burns then by the time he was finish with 135 the Tournament at 140 would have been completed then he could have jumped in the mix at 140 but hey if he feels he is ready to move up to 147 they so be it
