this is one of the reasons why the mares vs donaire fight did'nt get made.goldenboy was going to write the check for arum and donaire to split and that didnt work.HBO and SHOWTIME has'nt done a joint deal since tyson vs lewis

It's not that they have too many duckers. It's the culture of building up stars out of Bertos.

Of course they will leave their doors wide open. They'd be foolish to not have golden boy on that network. Golden boy has the majority of star fighters. But lol at hbo acting like they always try to have competitive match-ups, that's a bold face lie.

Too bad the biggest boxing star on earth will more then likely NEVER actually fight on the network. Your argument is nothing more then a theory being that your assuming that because GBP has a few bigger names Showtime's ratings and overall subscribers will skyrocket past HBO's somehow.. Anyone with a brain understands this couldn't be further from the truth. The reason most of the GBP fighters are the stars they are is because they have been showcased on HBO not only to the hardcore boxing fans, but to the casual and non boxing fans as well. Name me one fighter that became a huge star by being showcased on Showtime???.. HBO has a proven track record that proves they are more then capable of taking a guys like Brandon Rios, Donaire and Gamboa and making a stars out of them, not to mention HBO still has Chavez Jr. who draws higher ratings then anyone on the GBP roster.

Gamboa is a star now is he? Thats why I see him fighting all of the time.
GBP is fine without HBO, just like HBO would be fine without GBP. There is no winner or loser out of this as it will co exist regardless so stop trying to ride HBO cawk would ya?

HBO just lost out HUGE on Floyd's PPV money. Why do you think they were acting so butthurt at first?

Means nothing.. You don't seem to have any concept on how business works. Putting boxing on CBS is a good for GBP to get a few lesser named fighters exposure, but it doesn't do much at all to help boost ratings on Showtime and ultimately bring in new subscribers which is the goal if you want to make money. Truthfully CBS can probably draw higher ratings running reruns of the Price is Right then airing a GBP event.

Showtime is pretty much putting all their eggs into the GBP basket with no guarantee they can make back the profit they've invested. Do you know why Showtime gave the green light on the lucrative Mayweather contract and continues to invest whatever money GBP asks for to put on whatever fights they want to put on???... It's called DESPERATION. They did this thinking they would hurt HBO and help get them on an even playing field, but thus far there's no evidence that suggests it's working or that it ever will. Boxing alone will not help Showtime compete with the mighty juggernaut that is HBO.

No.. perhaps you should get off GBP and Floyd's "cawk" you clueless imbecile. And again you prove you have the business savy of homeless crack head... HBO isn't losing much money at all on Floyd's PPV money being that they just about crack even with the money they invest into the events. Monthly subscriptions is what brings in the money.. NOT PPV events. Get a clue and come back with more intelligent arguments.

Don't agree with the Floyd part at all - HBO did huge numbers with all their Floyd fights, you're naive if you think they 'let' Mayweather go to Showtime, that move in itself was a huge kick to HBO's nuts.

basically what HBO is saying is that they aren't going to pay GBP to showcase their boxers anymore. if GBP wants HBO dates, it's gotta be compelling fights. so that means Floyd vs anyone other than Pac / JMM / Martinez can go to Showtime, cause HBO ain't getting milked by Floyd no more. same thing for Broner, Khan, or anyone. HBO ain't handing out welfare no more
