I think Floyd left HBO for other reasons

We all know that Floyd wears his emotions on his sleeves.

Why would Floyd wanna be with HBO? A network that did not even respect him, they had Merchant disrespecting him MULTIPLE times, Kellerman at one point calling him a duck, Larry Merchant not giving Floyd any credit for OST just all to Nonito.

Who in there right mind would want to support a network and be affiliated with a network that wants to tear them down?? And that goes for any boxer.

Not saying you should turn a blind eye to crap fights and etc, but still you have to protect your goldenegg.

Didn't that Greenberg dude put it out that there was in deed negotiationsfor a fight with PAC? When Floyd said there was none.

All of that is true, this is just not way to treat your cash cow, the guy who brags and supports HBO in every interview.

Why on earth are you assuming that they 'wanted to tear him down'?

Your argument is basically that because HBO only kissed his ass 90% of the time instead of 100% of the time, he couldn't be expected to tolerate it and left accordingly.

Anyone who thinks that HBO was actually trying to destroy Mayweather (bearing in mind all the money that Floyd Mayweather fights generate for them), really needs to take the fanboy blinkers off and go for a long walk.

HBO, like Showtime, glorify their big draws. A tiny element of dissenting opinion amidst a vast ocean of fawning adoration and ass kissing is not the same as trying to tear someone down. At least not in the eyes of anyone who's not a fanatical fanboy.

You need some help. Show proof of HBO ripping him 90% of the time. Whether you like him or not Merchant told the truth no matter who the fighter is and he was actually giving Mayweather praise when Mayweather went off on him. This is a silly argument, if HBO would have had a better offer than Showtime then Floyd would still be at HBO and he would be singing their praises.

Floyd went to Showtime because they offered him big money for B level opponents, not because Larry Merchant bullied him.

Well in most cases, you wanna make as much without doing AS much. Another assumption can be that HBO wanted MORE of Floyd than just once a year, maybe giving him options for opponents he didn't like? along with the money he wanted to make under his own demands, HBO probably just said "Well do what you gotta do homie, we've made our offer".

I have no doubt his deal with Showtime is catered to how Floyd wants to run his career more than what Showtime is necessarily demanding. Case in point, his 1st fight on SHowtime PPV.
