If it was just Floyd saying those things in an interview then that may be true. But this was Floyd's representatives (presumably Haymon or Ellerbe) telling this to Canelo's people as well as Golden Boy. Why would they straight up lie to both of them unless Floyd told them he was willing to make the fight in September at some point?
It was reported last year that Canelo's people had been told by Floyd's people that they wanted to make the fight. What changed was when Canelo's people wanted them to put their money where their mouth was. IMO it was ***** move by Floyd's people to have Canelo help sell a joke fight like Guerrero without any type of written agreement that he would get his shot in September if they both won. Like you said verbal agreements don't mean anything when it comes to Floyd. Guy showed what he was about by giving them his word and then backing out.

Verbal agreements don't mean anything in life when it comes to business. Doesn't just pertain to Floyd. Canelo has a lot of nerve to be talking like he is the biggest thing in the sport when this is his first legit fight (Trout) in his whole professional career as a champion. Canelo needs more people. His attitude is the same that these younger generation fighters have. They feel like they are supposed to make it to the top without working to get there.

I can't get passed the fact that so many nut huggers are finding so many ways to defend Floyd. Granted he didn't owe anything but to say that Canelo was putting words in his mouth, COME ON! nahh, i think canelo did the right thing from removing himself from floyds card. why put more money on floyds pockets if he aint kepin his word? canelo is only what 22 and is already popular imagine how big of a star hell be by 25. He ain't hurting Floyd by not fighting on his card. Mayweather is already making well over 20Mil/30Mil per fight. This a foolish statement. Canelo ain't making that much money AT ALL.

canelo keeps talking about this so maybe he should show this contract that floyds team made to show the world how much of a hippocrit floyd is.to me it doesn't even make sense that floyds team made a contract with an agreement to fight canelo in september for no apparent reason.did floyd have to offer canelo a similar contract the other 3 times he was on floyds ppv?why all of a sudden offer this contract?

Maybe that "Contract" was something they used to get Showtime to up that mega digits contract Floyd got..after all Canelo's been giving Showtime record setting numbers lately so..I mean if Ellerbe is half the manager they claim that's a move I can imagine him pulling, can't really be mad if that's the case.It's business afterall but if it was an ego thing then that sucks.
