As far as "OMG WARRIOZ!", I respect any man that goes out in front of thousands of people with the potential of permanent life long injury, or even death at an elite level. At it's basest form.

This board is 90% filler of "As the World Turns" soap opera shit, but by men.
No, but he was a featherweight just 4 years ago. Also he was a Junior light/lightweight 2 years ago, and he then took well over a year off and has had a load of stress in the meantime. So he's relatively untried to be fighting the "GREAT" Mayweather..

Canelo basically made it seem like Floyd really wanted/needed him on his event and the only way to do it was to promise him a fight? That's bogus. Canelo hasn't even beaten Trout yet (He probably won't) but Floyd guaranteed him the big fight? Floyd was most likely talking out his ass. I said it before that he probably was like "yeah, yeah, yeah" when Canelo asked to fight him. Moral of the story is. $#!t ain't for real until it is on paper in black in white.
If it was just Floyd saying those things in an interview then that may be true. But this was Floyd's representatives (presumably Haymon or Ellerbe) telling this to Canelo's people as well as Golden Boy. Why would they straight up lie to both of them unless Floyd told them he was willing to make the fight in September at some point?
It was reported last year that Canelo's people had been told by Floyd's people that they wanted to make the fight. What changed was when Canelo's people wanted them to put their money where their mouth was. IMO it was ***** move by Floyd's people to have Canelo help sell a joke fight like Guerrero without any type of written agreement that he would get his shot in September if they both won. Like you said verbal agreements don't mean anything when it comes to Floyd. Guy showed what he was about by giving them his word and then backing out.

Then after Floyd beats Guerrero Jim Gray puts Floyd on the spot and says what about Canelo?? Now the fight has built a lot of interest.

nahh, i think canelo did the right thing from removing himself from floyds card. why put more money on floyds pockets if he aint kepin his word? canelo is only what 22 and is already popular imagine how big of a star hell be by 25. If floyd can duck, avoid, so many times why cant canelo do it too? if jim ask floyd about canelo hell probably be like "floyd dont need canelo" same o same o shiz....

The vast majority of boxers who die in the ring are at the very opposite of "elite level". They are fighters that nobody has ever heard of, except maybe locally.

Certain things need to fall into place, people keep winning, and he still needs a win against an opponent that we all know is not a cakewalk.
If he beats Trout, another top fighter and then Martinez....even if he loses tomartinez but puts up a good fight, as he surely would, I don't think that Mayweather would go anywhere near him. And I wouldn't blame him, depending on how he's ageing in the ring. It's really not fair to expect a 38 year old to fight a top 25 year old.

His first real test is in April 20 untill then he hasn't fought or beaten a top ten in his division how can he be in the drivers seat when it comes to negotiations . My opinion he's way to ****y for someone whose been pampered and aint really done shiz.
These days, all you have to do is beat one notable fighter and a weed-smoking cab driver to be called a P4P king.. Actually, you don't even have to do that..

Canelo is out of his mind, Floyd never said he wanted to fight him so stop putting words in his mouth.
