Stopping Zaveck (32-2, 18 KOs, 1 NC) would amount to a very impressive victory for the heavy-handed, undefeated Thurman, but he hopes it would only be his second-biggest win this year at Barclays Center. If the Paulie Malignaggi-Adrien Broner fight isn’t made for June 22 at Barclays Center, Thurman hopes he gets a shot at the WBA welterweight champion in Malignaggi’s hometown.

Wasn't Thurman's last fight at 154? He better focus on Zaveck because I watched his Quintana fight again last night and he is very wide when he punches and walks when he punches. A counter puncher who isn't shot could catch him as he loads up on his punches and drop him when he shifts his weight, don't climb up on that pedestal too soon man.

Thurman is nothing more than power and that's it...sorry to say but I had hoped he'd come a long a bit more by now but he hasn't. Can't rely on power forever.

that's my belief also. he could well beat Paulie on size and power allied with sheer pressure, but Malignaggi is above his optimum weight and much past his best, so that doesn't say too much.

Thurman is one of those fighters that relies on power with minimal skill to beat fighters. He's exciting to watch cause he gets ko's but once he gets past these gatekeepers on to real competition his career is downhill fast IMO unless something changes in his fundamentals

Not to mention the fact that Paulie never had a punch. It's easy to talk about balls when you are 20-0-18kos. Paulie has a recent win on cuts, but I don't remember him ever hurting anybody with one, or a series of punches to where the ref was going to stop the fight. Thurman should hunt bigger game.

Do your ***in Homework, Thurman is a Boxer who just so happen to have One Punch Power, your talking about a guy with a decorated amateur career back in Florida, he has damn good Boxing Skills, Thurman knows how to cut the ring off, uses his Jab and can setup his Power Shots and he mixes up his punches very well...sure he has things he need to work on he is a 24 year old fighter, not even in his PRIME YET
