This is all good. HBO has become to stagnant and repetitive. From the mundane commentary team to the familiar Las Vegas fight location. And the way in which they've interviewed Floyd before (Merchant's *****ing) really is enough to lose the priviledge of broadcasting Mayweather. The way they interviewer other boxers, in general, leaves a lot to be desired.
Hopefully Floyd will help put networks back in their place so the balance of power can return to the boxers, instead of being in the corporations favor. This move has the potential to revolutionize the sport because of Mayweather's status. It's likely more boxer's are going to make the transition from HBO to Showtime as a result of this.

LOL.
He's 36 Id lauph my ass off if he lost. As for this being a blow to HBO. Maybe. Last time SHO did this it got locked into **** fights/undercards that led them away from long term contracts. We dont know the details. Maybe floyd was asking to much and HBO said screw it BYLast edited by jiml; 02-19-2013, 03:39 PM.

I will miss watching floyd on HBO same way I did Tyson. But I want HBO to get back to what made it great. Putting on great fights. Hopefully, they go with all weights and work with all promoters.
Showtime is giving up dates for whatever GPB and Haymon wants. This is the reward for having no say in matchmaking and being a pawn, all in all it worked out for Espinoza. Expect even worse matchmaking this year on Showtime.

And here's me thinking that the reason why any fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather is further away than ever is because Pacquiao just got knocked out by Marquez and is chasing a rematch harder than Wile.E.Coyote.
That Mayweather is garnering so much attention before even throwing a punch while Pacquiao is trying to pick up the pieces must be bitter pill for some to swallow, so I can understand the negativity on this thread. Sometimes life just ain't fair.
