Say what you want about Arum but he is a good businessman. He would not risk a huge payday against a relative unknown like Austin Trout.
It's high risk and low reward.
Golden Boy already got burned by Trout once before. He's the reason that we aren't arguing about Canelo vs. Cotto on the undercard. Think how much bigger this PPV could have been with those two.
Like I said, GBP makes dumb moves.

Canelo is gona murda trout. Canelo is the next great thing for boxing. Watch, even after he beats trout, the haters will come up some excuse to discredit him. And mayweather is one of the greatest skillful boxers but canelo will be too young and strong for him.

Trout has had one decent win against a faded cotto who had just been beaten by mayweather. Plus cotto underestimated trout.
There is nothing special about trout.
Canelo however is god gifted. He is barely 22 and is already showing world class boxing skills and this will be his coming out party.

You people assuming that its a win or lose guarantee need to wake up. There has been no indication that this is the case.
Fact is Canelo doesn't need to fight on the undercard unless its to build up a showdown later this year. Canelo's team just wants assurances that will happen, provided they both win. Floyd fans should be happy about this, Canelo's plan will let them see their idol more than once a year.
