How does Floyd not get credit for beating a guy 3 years ago

The main issue was that it was JMM's first foray into WW, clearly unprepared physically for an established Welterweight. He looked bloated, slow and generally just lethargic in the ring. This JMM is experienced now in adding pounds the *right* way onto his frame in order to compete at WW.
JMM vs. any WW on that night would have ended in disaster for JMM.
Floyd just shouldn't have wasted a prime night against him at that point. But it is what it is, he still has JMM on his resume, and that's cool. When historians and all look over that, they'll just comment on a LW coming up to WW on a Twinkie and golden-piss diet.

Floyd dragged the guy up two weight classes and was still so scared he stole 2 extra pounds (or rather paid for them).
Let Floyd fight Marquez at 143-144lbs, then come tell us how he's better than him.

Any level headed person would realize, the way that Floyd won, that 2lbs did absolutely nothing.
He didn't even fight him in a way in which is weight would matter such as an inside fight, he boxed him from a distance the entire fight.
He won every second of every round after a 2 year layoff, that 2lbs meant absolutely nothing.

I'm a huge JMM fan but I'm realistic when I say Marquez just can't beat Floyd. Never.
I do think that it would be a tad more competitive today as I think Marquez with now more experience at 147 can maybe land a more effective punch and Mayweather has slowed down some that Marquez can get in a punch or two a round.
Overall, it was just a bad career decision, mind you, not a bad financial decision for Floyd to fight JMM. This fight just will never looked at positively. The only thing that sticks out is him drinking his own piss because of nutrients and nothing else really serious. JMM should have had a fight or two (kinda like Guerrero) at WW before fighting Floyd. Now, Guerrero fighting Floyd is a decent fight because Guerrero moved up, proved he belong and gets his shot (I'm assuming). If Floyd/JMM followed that same progression, nobody would really be complaining, even if the same 12-0 shutout happens

floyd is the superior boxer. period.... but i have no doubt jmm would be better equipped to take some rounds from floyd. but yeah... styles make fights. floyd by CLOSE decision.
