Cotto's been shot..and I am a die hard cotto fan..he looked good against a margarito with one eye who only got licensed to fight because he needed the final big payday..anyone saying this fight was remotely close was paying attention more to the announcers and the crowd instead of watching the fight. If miguel hadn't gotten lazy he should've stayed at 147..thank god he didn't get a rematch with either Mayweather or Pacquaio..he's still very much prey to speed and power..he may still punch as hard as a mule but he can't overcome speed..I think him and pedro thought fighters at 154 would be more his speed but the problem is they have longer reach and in many cases more power. Floyd said last year he wasn't going back down to 147 but reality is he has no choice.

I underestimated Trout, he did win the fight. A few points are I want to make are that this says nothing about Mayweather. Trout came in at 170, he said he would anyway that's nearly 25 pounds on Mayweather. He simply had the ability to muscle Cotto around, as well as handle the punches better. Mayweather/Cotto were two WW's fighting each other really, and Cotto shows that he is too small to fight big JWW's period.
Secondly, Cotto should just call it a day. Trout's ring IQ was better and quite frankly that shocked me, Cotto doesn't have anything left to beat anyone of substance anymore this fight showed it. If he can make 147 I would still like to see him in against anyone from 140-147. At 154 he has "attention" power not KO power, against a real JWW anyway. At 147 he can still crack, but if he is lazy about making the weight (which he seems to be) then oh well.
Finally, Cotto isn't the same guy he used to be. He sold out just like Manny and Floyd but now he is unprofessional, walking out of the ring again? Seriously, man up lost a ton of respect for this guy tonight and honestly I had a feeling he could lose once I saw his weight coming into camp. His nose during camp and the fact that he was still cutting with bags/sweats during workouts. Add to that the acne on his face and shows all the greasy **** he was eating and sweating out. He got lazy when he thought his **** didn't stink, he's too battle worn for that and well... Mayweather was his last great fight. He loses to Manny, Floyd, Martinez and Canelo. Like I said at 147, let me see him in there with Guerrero, Rios, Mattyse, or even Ortiz at 154 but it can't be on PPV. Cotto had a good go, but after 2 walk outs on post fight interviews he is killing what good reputation he had.

I got nothing but mad respect for what Trout did. I new it was gonna be tough for Cotto but not like this. I think Cotto may have 1 last fight in him. I think Trout's style really made him look like a shot fighter. I had it 116-112 and ok with 117-111.

Canelo beats Trout
Looking at this fight just reassured me that if Canelo was to fight Cotto that Canelo would've schooled him. Cotto just doesn't look he has it in him anymore, no disrespect cause I like Cotto but I think his days are past him. I don't see Trout being any threat Canelo. Alvarez will give hime a boxing clinic.
