How? you still havent explained how, you have just given an opinion and most of that is based on floyds defensive skills(something I have already given him the highest possible compliment for). I dont find Duran to be an 'old time fighter' I was a kid when he was still the LW champ. I have seen many fighters come and go, great ones, good ones, overrated ones etc. I know what I'm looking at or should do by now. Both men are great fighters, both are highly skilled and both take different approaches to applying their skills. My opinion is that Duran was the more rounded(skillful if you like) fighter, and I'm not alone in thinking that.

It has everything to do with it. If you have skills you shouldnt be quiting in fights or getting put to sleep. Duran is great. Watched him a ton growing up. People think Floyds just this defensive fighter but nobody talks about his accuracy. Hes number 1 in accuracy in the history of compubox. Doesnt that count too?

Horrible post and horrible analogy. Duran was a former LW going up against one of the hardest hitting WW'S of all times. Tommy Hearns was a freak of nature. A 6'2 fighter with surreal power, great boxing skills, and one of the hardest jabs in the division's history.

If Floyd (another former lw) fought Hearns, he might not have gotten knocked cold, because of his defensive minded styles, but he would most likely have lost every single round curled up towards the end in a fetal position. Or he would have been stopped.

Using Hearns as a example that Duran isn't 'great' is beyond ****** and screams you are nothing more than a BoxRec warrior. You should stop watching boxing and go watch a sport that is more suited for your level of intelligence. May I suggest track? The guy who run the fastest wins. That should be simple even for a ignorant donkey like you.
