No we won't, a least not true fans, what we want is for Canelo to legitimized the belt that was given to him by a crooked org and fight fighters that are ranked in his own division, what we want is for him to fight Vanes, Lara, Molina, Trout etc.. Regardless of the danger, the kid is more protected than *****, by wearing that belt and not fighting the best available boxers he is in fact taking food from fighters that deserve better, if he is not going to defend the belt then vacate it and keep doing what he is doing, I'll tell you that what he is been fighting doesn't prepare him for the likes of Fraud, Cotto, Lara and Vanes...

What a complete Fanny! A 22 year old fighter in his prime, fresh to death, fought only twice in the year - a month ago against an outclassed JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT and prior to that a PREHISTORIC Shot Shane Mosley and he needs a rest!? He's taking 8 months out!? Disgusting

Its not just him its all the champs and top fighters! Fighting 4x a year is NOT a big ask and should be the minimum these guys are fighting, injuries aside.....

Back in the day they used to rumble every month! C'mon man its weak

All this talk of Canelo potentially becoming rusty is bull****. He has 42 documented pro fights. Which means he has one less than Mayweather and two more than Cotto. Not to mention he claims to have at least another dozen fights that aren't documented. This guy is more than capable of taking a couple months off and coming back strong.

I'm just curious as to why when a fighter says "Floyd" folks on here seem to get all worked up..not debating whether he deserves a fight or not..but come on..Floyd fought victor ortiz!! In my opinion if you are find it ok he fought Ortiz none of the other names floating around can be unattractive..HE FOUGHT ORTIZ!!! In fact Canelo just dismantled the guy who dismantled Ortiz! So say what you want but by default that makes canelo a much better opponent than ORTIZ! (Who I still can't believe got a shot against Floyd).

I'm also pointing out how many names have been in the top 10 rankings in both Floyds two divisions (147-154) over the time since he's returned from retirement and he's fought 3 guys in those 4 fights who had barely any standing in those rankings. 1. Ortiz was one fight into top ten with a win over Berto. 2. Mosley did not belong in top 10 at that point of his career. 3. Cotto had one win over margarito that put him back into the top ten..I like floyd I think he's a great fighter and I think he'd put on a good show against canelo but damn if he doesn't get a pass anytime others mention wanting to fight him.

Sulaiman saisaid tha he won't allow canelo to take another fight apart of Lara/vanes winner..he said if canelo do soo he will be striped from his belt..and i hope soo..canelo need to fight his mandatory against top 154 pounders..i think he is not ready to fight the winner of Lara martirosyan, he s not even fighting ppl his own size...i hope he don't do what he said and fight his mandatory, i will hate to see him loss against Mayweather before he lose his o with Lara..

But those fights were against low level opposition, meaning lots of early KOs and lots of one-sided beatdowns. He has no experience against A level fighters and he's gonna have the longest layoff of his career before facing one for the first time. That's not smart.

Mayweather won't mention Alvarez, pac-tarts start the "Floyd is scared of Alvarez" cry. Same **** different day. pac-tarts mad Pac is fighting at WW and yet has ducked every top WW and now won't even face a WW.

You know it's bad when the pac-tarts are attempting to justify fighters being forced up to WW... Bob Arum as I suggested years ago, is exposing pac as the fraud that he really is.

Alvarez Cotto in May is what should happen!

Well enlighten us as to what top p4p floyd has fought in the past 5 years..and I mean a prime of their career p4p fighter with more than 1 fight placing them into the top ten..i'll wait..BTW your sig makes it extremely hard to take anything you have to say on the topic of floyd objectively considering what we can see just beneath your opinion.

You do realize that when Mayweather fought Mosley, Sugar was coming off his destruction of Margarito, at the absolute pinnacle of his career. And Mosley was not only rated the top welterweight in the game, but was pretty much the consensus P4P #3. It was pretty much a given that the "Mosley was old and washed up" excuse was gonna be given after he got his ass kicked. But heading into that fight, Mayweather-Mosley was the biggest fight that could be made outside of Mayweather-Pacquaio.

As for Ortiz, if my memory serves me correct, Ring ****zine had him rated #3 at welterweight behind Mayweather and Pacquaio when Money fought him. I'm not saying Ortiz is a world beater. But considering Mayweather was coming off a 16 month layoff, I'd say Ortiz was an adequate tune-up type opponent.

As for Cotto, I'll give you that his run at jr middleweight might not be that impressive. But he did hit the division by completely outclassing Yuri Foreman, who was undefeated and whom many picked to beat Cotto heading into their fight. Mayweather was moving up. And oh yeah, Cotto's lone legitimate loss was to a guy that dip****s get on this site daily and claim is head and shoulders better than Mayweather. So exactly what's wrong with Mayweather moving up, fighting the #1 rated guy in a higher division, and who's lone loss is to a guy that's "better" than him anyway?
