    Cotto response to Sergio Martinez

This guys from Tiro al Blanco, a PR sport website recently interview Miguel and ask him about Sergio. I did my best at translating it. Here is the link:

The puertorican pugilist Miguel Cotto, who will fight on December 1 in MSG New York SW/LMW Austin Trout, responded to recent comments made by Segio Martinez.

Several days ago Martinez said that he will like to face the puertorican because he dont like him and consider him a strange (or odd) person.

    Cotto response to Sergio's comments:

“There is a place and time for everything. Sergio been trying for years to make a fight with Miguel Cotto (he talks in third person ******ly), he is searching desperately trying to obtain what all of us want, money. He needs to sit dow, he just fought, sit down and wait for my turn on December 1 to fight. If he really wants the fight for 2013, we will sit down with them after the fight, we will talk to see what Sergio Martínez have to offer and what benefits does fighting him bring to my career. If it really benefit my career we will choose him as an opponent.”

He also talk about Sampson Lewkovicz expression about Sergio willing to leave his purse to Cotto to make the fight happen. Miguel said:

“If we said no to his offer it was because even with his purse, he did not meet our financial expectations” concluded Miguel Cotto.

Cotto is right to avoid him.

He'd get killed and it wouldn't make him more money than he could make fighting Canelo.

Sergio did good numbers on ppv, that's a huge plus. Also he's willing to drop to 154

Maybe but thing is, the way I read it, is Cotto saying is Sergio the most financially viable fight for him.

                It probably isn't.

Cotto is clearly looking for the money.

Wonder what the next excuse will be. I mean Cotto wants a belt at 160 and Martinez is willing to come down to 154.

If Cotto gets past Trout I would like to see Canelo get a shot at him during the Cince de Mayo weekend. It would be a good fight in which we would see if Canelo is finally ready for a real challenge. If Cotto were to fight Martinez I think Sergio would win pretty handily. Give the ginger a shot.
