Gambler thinks Canelo beats Rosado but I dont think it happens. If Canelo fights Rosado in December that'd be a huge jump in competition AND size where I would not be favoring Canelo.

Rosado has come a long way. When he got reckless, he absorbed two hellacious shots that probably would've dropped him earlier in his career. Rosado is an example of how early career set-backs can make a fighter better. Above all, what I like about Rosado is that he's a thinking fighter. When something isn't working, he'll switch it up and try something else. He'll change his guard, he'll pressure, he'll fight behind his long jab, he'll try to counter, etc. He also has very good foot-work/torso movement for a guy his height, good athleticism. He also has a killer instinct. When you add the fact that he seems to absorb punishment better than before, I think he has the qualities to become a top fighter.

He can get reckless, but when he boxes behind a jab and looks to set up his offense, he becomes very difficult to deal with because of his height/reach. Not too many tall/lanky guys can fight on the inside as well as he can either. Threat from the outside and inside, tough puzzle to solve.

Anyone who fights smart and is big/durable enough to handle the rough patches where canelo will go all out...think how Alfonso Gomez was getting rounds versus Canelo......exploiting his lack of intensity and overly patient style...Id say Lara-Molina-Trout have a shot at doing this...
Also someone who can set a high pace and exploit Canelo's laziness early on...but again, has to be very durable to withstand the moments where canelo explodes back(canelo wastes a lot of energy when he does this...thats why he fights in spurts).....this is why the Williams fight wouldve been such a bad matchup for canelo.
Think of how people have been able to beat Arthur Abraham....another fighter who can ice you with one shot, or wear you down with decent punches.....but his style is exploitable.Last edited by -Hyperion-; 09-22-2012, 02:34 PM.

I don't think he should fight Angulo JUST yet. Fight K9, then Quintana, then Angulo. If he gets past those three, he's in a very good position. He'd have the IBF belt with 2 decent defenses and his fanbase will have probably grown as well. Instead of Indio, he could fight Molina. K9/Molina/Angulo is a solid stretch of opposition, especially if he wins them all.
