His potential won't end with a Mayweather fight either, as long as you are ready to hold your own, getting in there with legends like that can actually help you
how many more times do you think Floyd fights?

All you gotta say is.. Canelo will do WAY BETTER than Ortiz... and he definately would bring 100% challenge to Mayweather

I don't think it would be cake but May wins by UD using movement and speed. He wouldn't want to **** like he did with Cotto that would not be smart.

Floyd Doesn't Have The Balllz To fight Canelo

And that's good for Floyd because his "skills" couldn't keep Camelo off him. Floyd had trouble with Cotto. I promise you, Canelo would knock Floyd out cold. Floyd will never take that fight. No ballz.

I'd like to believe Floyd and say he won't let boxing retire him....but I've seen plenty of my favorites go on way too long so I'll assume he stays in a minimum 3yrs. IDK about the total amount of fights that would be, because it seems like he usually lets the landscape develop b4 he makes a move to make a huge fight. id like Canelo to go the Cotto route for the first big stage of his career, maybe that can happen next year sometime. Not sure what cotto will do, he may not even care about a Canelo fight.

Canelo has skill that is still a work in progress and he has heart. He uses the jab well and he punches in combinations. He is also very poised to be such a young fighter. I honestly think that he could give Floyd problems at this stage the same way Cotto did. Floyd's experience would get him through it though. Right now, Floyd can do things in the ring that Canelo has never dealt with. But, that's only as long as Floyd stays sharp. The defense will always be there for him so he will never take a brutal beating, but the older he gets, the less sharper his offense will become. Once that happens, Canelo will be able to get a win. It would be parellel to Whitaker when he fought Oscar. You could see that Pernell was the more skilled fighter. But at that stage of his career, he just couldn't get off like he wanted to and Oscar got the decision. There honestly is no reason for Floyd to fight these young guys. He needs to fight Manny and Sergio and get out. Those guys are the best in the sport and all are around or close to the same age. They all are at the same stage of their career. Unstead of Canelo wanting to fight those established hall of famers, he should build his own legacy by fighting the top guys coming up with him. That is how those guys did it. Lara, Trout,Kirkland, and a few others would be excellent fights for him. Then you have Chavez Jr above him at 160 and guys like Berto, Bradley, and soon Khan beneath him at 147. These are young guys in their prime or near it that would bring more exciting fights. As great as Ray Leonard, Hagler, and Hearns were, they stayed away from a young talented Michael Nunn and fought each other. I think the same will happen with Manny and Floyd. What's the point in fighting this young lion when you have already set yourself in the history books? Cotto and Sergio would probably fight him, and those would be good fights. No matter how it plays out, as a devoted fight fan, I'll be there to watch.

The longer Floyd waits, the better chance Canelo has of beating him. Personally, as a Canelo fan, I'd prefer Canelo to fight Cotto first. Beat him and hes ready. That being said Floyd isnt getting any younger, could lose a step soon and Canelo is perfecting his craft but still needs to polish up his defense. So a fight next year puts Floyd at 36 n Canelo around 23 i believe. Things could get very interesting. But objectively speaking on Canelo, the kid has got some good offense. Throws sharp crisp powerful punches. But the fact that he gets hit makes his fights interesting.

I agree, Canelo would have a good chance in this fight. I'd rather this fight happen soon with Canelo fighting Floyd while hes still on top then fighting floyd when hes close to 40

No balls??? Wow! What else does this man have to do to get respect??? Manny and Floyd are both great fighters and its a shame they haven't fought yet. Its too much money and greed in the sport now and that's why it hasn't happened. But to say Floyd Mayweather Jr doesn't have balls is being delusional. No matter what the fans say, you won't find a fighter in the sport saying Mayweather doesn't have balls. This man came up through the ranks and put in the hard work to be where he's at right now. Same with Manny. They both have the right to pick and chose who they want to fight. Isn't that what Chavez Sr, Ray Leonard, Hearns, Duran and all of the great ones did near the end of their careers? To say a fighter that trains hard and made a living throwing and dodging punches half of their life doesn't have balls is an insult. Some of these clown ass haters and critics should try getting in the ring for just 3 rounds with a bum, and lets see how much balls you have!
