Khan's style stayed the same to me when he went to Roach. I never saw this great change people go on about and I will be surprised if we see a big change and defensive improvement when he gets a new coach. I feel his best days may well be behind him and see him coming short when he fights the top fighters.

Amir khan has too many flaws to fix

People are making it sound like Roach is the one and if Roach can't help you, no one can.
I think with Khan going to a new trainer, we will see a difference. It's not like Khan's OK in every area, he has no inside game at all. He needs to learn how to keep calm and get out of trouble and not to smother his own work.
A lot of Khan's flaws can be easily rectified.

I'm not sure Khan can change. He is very young so can make lots of improvments but his mindset is all wrong. Everything that goes wrong he blames someone else.
If he continues to be as arrogant and stubborn as he is now then I can see him getting ko'd a couple more times till he realizes.

The kid thinks he's the second coming of sugar ray Robinson.
He blames all HIS mistakes on the people who are actually trying to help him like Roach and Ariza, and never says anything about his doofus family or those greasy hangers on Saj and Asif Valli. Di****able yes men, who do him more harm than good.
I'm calling time on khan.
He will never learn
Weak mind: The lost to Prescott would have ended a lot of young fighters careers, Khan not only came back he came back stronger and became a multi world champion.
no defence at all: Hardly got his against Zab, Kotlelnik, Malignaggi, all world champs.
poor footwork: Decent on his feet, can work at range well, quick, not great but not poor.
Poor punch variety: Has a great jab, likes to use it, but mixes up his punches well, can work the body.
Average physical strength: Who has bullied him around the ring? Very good physical strength and gets himself in great condition for fights.
Average punch power, he is quite heavy handed, but does lack that one punch KO power. His power is better than average.
Khan has learned and learned over the years and the lost to Garcia has not deterred his belief his his boxing abilities and confidence, and he will learn from his mistakes as he has done before.
I don't think Khan has ever compared himself to be Sugar Ray Robinson, and if he has been successful as he has and has all these flaws then he must be a great natural talent.

Every human being has too many flaws than can be fixed.
I don't understand all the Khan hate, all you have to do is watch him to see how much talent and athleticism he possesses, he just fights ****** and has no chin.
He just needs a trainer that understands his strength and his weaknesses better. Other than a trainer who knows Pacquiao's strengths and weaknesses.Last edited by DARKSEID; 09-03-2012, 07:45 AM.

he's a professional boxer making millions of dollars, man. if it were so easy they would have figured it out.
fighters and athletes are what they are at khan's stage. sure, some improvements can be made, but the basic makeup of the fighter is already ingrained. when you're having punches thrown at your face and head by another world class boxer you don't think. you rely on what is already instinctual. to change those instincts takes years and many fights. khan does not have that kind of time.
you brits are going to have to start accepting that amir khan is what you've seen in his past few fights. he's not going to be a great or make any vast improvements. he'll have a nice career when it's all said and done, but he's almost certainly hit his peak.

His recovery is a problem because he has a weak chin.
If you put say Pacquiao in the same Maidana situation, and have him eat the same exact punches Khan ate, he wouldn't even slow down for a second lol much less almost get knocked out.

Chin is how well you can take a shot without going down.
Recovery is how well you recover from getting put down, or from having you senses rattled.
99% of fighters get put down or rattled but he how well they deal with it and recovery that counts.

How has he learned everything he has to learn about boxing lol? Obviously he's not even close. Nobody was born perfect.
Nobody was born a champion.
