It's kinda ironic because from a business perspective 50 Cent knows way more than Mayweather ever will. He's had more successful deals outside of rap than inside of it. Mayweather doesn't know business, he's a man with inferiority complex that wishes he knew about the ins and outs of being a legit businessman. 50 Cent, while being a businessman himself should have known better than to ridicule Oscar, the man who gave Mayweather his exposure.

Maybe 50 Cent feels he can rush into this and quickly take over without any help.

Floyd has always had "mayweather promotions". That is probably for tax and accounting reasons having a corporation rather than just himself.

But all floyd really needs is HBO. I mean I guess he could cut out Schafer/GBP but he still needs a lawyer or someone reading over his contracts and all even if he does that. I dont know why he would now that he has a good relationship and trusts Schafer, its not like he is going to do EVERYTHING on his own, even if he makes his own company he still needs to pay people under him to take care of everything. He is already sidestepping traditional GBP and going more direct with Schafer the way it is.

I agree, Floyd has enough exposure to be fighting under 50 Cent/TMT especially with HBO on his back, but I think TMT working with other promotions companies for other fights is what's key. If they open up and allow their fighters to fight GBP or TR fighters then they are set, meanwhile GPB and TR are still shunning each other.

I think once the learning curve takes place there is potential....but promotions are a team endeavor and you really can't make mistakes....on contracts, on promises....it is like real estate development in some ways, on one of our projects I spoke to this dude for five minutes and his next call was to his lawyer trying to sure my ass! our lawyer just laughed at me...his point and what I would think is the issue With fifty cents is that you need smart people because in some endeavors you cannot make mistakes, people a will take you to the cleaners.....no shirt left no nothing! Except the love Floyd and Curtis share. I would not piss on Schaefer that's for sure

Shaeffer is the biggest brown-noser in boxing. Once he removes his tongue from Mayweather's ass, he'll realise that Floyd has zero fcking interest in renewing his arrangement with Golden Boy. Golden Boy don't bring anything to the table. Yes, they've co-promoted several of Floyd's fights, but the Mayweather brand, the Mayweather name is now so big, it doesn't matter who promotes him - his fights will sell. It's not difficult to promote a fight anyway - multi-city press tour, hype, interviews. TMT will do just as well. Shaeffer and Golden Boy don't do anything special to promote a fight - their undercards are slightly better than most, but beyond that, they're typical promoters. Why would Floyd pay them to promote a fight when TMT, which is his own company, can just do it? Despite their inexperience, I'm sure Floyd's fight will still do big numbers, particularly if he appears at WrestleMania again and if he fights a top name, though, thinking about it, who is he going to fight? There's not many viable options for him. Canelo is the only one who will do big, big numbers and he's with Golden Boy anyway.
