Whose style suffers more from age, Mayweather or Martinez?
Fans like you always think Mayweather is completely immune to aging. He's 35, face it, no athlete will be in their absolute prime at that age.

He'll be 36 next year, Martinez will be 38. Age is a non issue. You're making it an issue, but in reality, they're the same. Floyd is not prime, he's losing speed, losing footwork, having to fight toe to toe more often now. Martinez arguably is at his peak, while it's agreed on by many that Floyd is past prime.

Bernard Hopkins got his first big win at 35, against Tito Trinidad. Then got more big wins after that, all the way up to 46. That's an exception, he never fought amateur, and got a late start. You could say Martinez, although stylistically different from Hopkins, actually has that in common with B-Hop. In which he got his first big win at 35, against Pavlik, followed it up with Williams, then Macklin, now Chavez Jr. You just don't know when Martinez will hit the past prime mark. It could be in his next fight, it could be at 45 years old. We don't know, he started late.

Floyd however, we know his time is coming to an end because we see the gradual decline in his performance. He still dominates, and still hasn't lost, but that just shows how great he is, not how young he still is.

When will it be time for you to stop making excuses?

There's only one way to find out, making excuses all night is not that way.

          Ward did call out Serg.

          Martinez called out Pac too.

You do realize that Floyd will beat Martinez half to death at 154 pounds. NSB knows it too they just want to start the hes 37, hes drained and hes shot threads.

I would rather watch 2 excellent fighters fighting at their best against solid opposition than watch those two excellent fighters fight each other in a fight where both guys aren't at their best.

It wouldn't be terrible but just not my cup of tea.
I know what you mean. I kinda feel the same way and it's not like 160 is dead either. It is picking up, Martinez has some opponents in there that he could handle. Of course it wont be the same payday.

I bet you Martinez fights Ward at 168 before Floyd fights him @ ANY weight.

Actually, Ward did mention Martinez's name when he beat Macklin I believe on Twitter but the dude will NOT leave 168. Guaranteed.

Fantastic point, no way chavez fights at 160 when they had same day weigh ins.

On a side note, am I the only one hoping they don't make a rematch? I really don't need to see Martinez dominate 11 of 12 rounds again. Jr. gave him all he had in the 12th and it wasn't enough. I would much rather see GGG or Geale get a shot at Sergio than a Jr. rematch.

Its always bveen comical how Floyd is looked at like Benjamin Button on this site.

Its as if somehow when everyone else is getting older the 36 year old, inactive former inmate is not aging.

                    Priceless.

I got sick of him showboating and putting his hands down. His style is played. Im glad he got detached from the world for those 15 seconds.

I just didnt liek the way he fought today. He wasnt sure of himself. He was too busy trying to look cute. Jr was ready to go to war.
I agree with that criticism. Though he doesn't do it in every round it is annoying. Don't really care about the sergio butt boys in this thread he does do that.
