    Prime Cotto takes Mayweather

I've just finished watching this fight, and here's how I saw it:

    For me, Cotto took rds 2, 5, 6, & 8

    Mayweather took 1, 3, 4, 7, 11, 12

    But there are 2 swing-rounds rds 9 & 10

Give them to Cotto and u have a draw

Mayweather was the effective puncher but Cotto was the champion and forced the fight - I think MC won 5-rds!

In his prime, 2007-2008, he takes Mayweather!

Prime Cotto would have easily stormed through Floyd, but Cotto was "too far away, he's all the way in Puerto Rico."

In his prime he might take Mayweather NOW, but prime for prime, Mayweather still wins.

And I think you had that fight much closer than most people did.

Are you saying that was a prime PBF that Cotto fought? What does Cotto being the champion have to do with anything? Are you one of those who believes you have to take the title from champ?

yeah but in his prime, 2007-2008, his manager was Arum and they were saying he wasnt ready.

Also in 2007-2008, Floyd was in his prime.

Your post doesnt make any sense, you can play that little guy with anybody. Oh look ! in his prime Edison Miranda beats 50 years old Hopkins

Everyone knows Floyd isn't as effective at 154. I think prime for prime at welterweight, Floyd wins a hard fought UD. The Cotto that fought Zab/Mosley/Margarito 1 vs. The FLoyd that fought Hatton/Judah/Baldomir. I got Floyd in that case. I don't include the Ortiz and Mosley fight, because I don't consider him Prime Floyd at that point (noticeable lack of foot movement).

Edit: But, it's still so hard for me to believe, that the Floyd that fought Hatton could beat Cotto. I don't know, I feel like Cotto could have smothered Floyd as well, but been a lot more effective, and also use the jab consistently to throw him off. Very tough fight to call, anyone saying it's a mismatch is crazy. Tough ass fight for both fighters, but with the way Floyd adjusts, he comes out with the UD/SD.
