I want to like Canelo, but its real hard when he keeps getting protected by Delahoya and the rest of GBP. Win or Lose, i have a much greater respect for Josesito Lopez and will be rooting for him to break another jaw on Sept. 15th. Even if Canelo has a first round KO, he will still be known as the most protected man in Boxing. History my asss. This is nonsense. Viva Josesito Lopez.

You're obviously fine with Canelo fighting Mayorga or Lopez because you think voicing your opinion against it is dumb. I swear, you idiots that bring up that excuse are reaching so hard.

As far as justice being served, every one should be happy for Lopez. He was the guy being written off against Ortiz, he knocks him out and gets the fight Ortiz was supposed to get.
When it comes to Canelo accepting this fight, it makes him look like he's going the easy way. Those are the pros and cons of this fight.

The saddest thing about this potential fight is that Lopez will be the best opponent Alvarez has ever fought. Imagine that -- a fighter has more than 40 fights in his career and his best opponent is a lucky journeyman who was fighting at 140 two fights ago
However, I can't really blame GBP. Ricky Hatton was the most protected fighter in England and was drawing big crowds in his hometown. However, as soon as his handlers removed the cloak of protection from him and put him in the ring with Mayweather, his career was essentially ended. GBP wants to milk Alvarez all they can before they expose him to the likes of Cotto or Mayweather and destroy his career.
One good thing about September 15 is that it will be the day that Julio Chavez Jr.'s career will essentially end!Last edited by big_james10; 07-09-2012, 09:41 PM.

There are no pros for Lopez other than the payday. I understand the kid, he wants a big payday and he's looking to be the best, but right now fighting a guy who's going to outweight him by 15 pounds is not the best decision.
For Canelo this is just complete crap, his career consists of sub par oposition, he's fighting old faded fighters (see Mosley, Cintron, Ndou) or welterweights (Gomez, Hatton)
Now he's fighting a guy who's not even a WW, we're talking a guy who was around 144-145 for his last fight ... this is just a joke.
