Anyways, I don't like Dawson going to 168, but it's still a decent/solid fight. Would have preferred it at a good CW or if Ward had gone up to 175.

Never really criticized Pac's CW fights except the Oscar one, because Oscar hadn't weighed in at 145 in like 9 years.
But it's Oscar that asked for the fight at 147. It wasn't even a catchweight. Oscar chose the weight. If any catchweight Pacman fight that cannot be criticized, it's that 1.

Im sure theres people that'll be criticizing ward for it, but nowhere the amount of people that criticize pac for the cotto fight. pattern? i think it just might be...[/QUOTE]

If the same people criticise both or don't fault either, then at least they are being consistent.

People that would crticise one and not the other show a real case of double standards.
I dont care what fight ward and dawson fight at. the fight doesnt interest me whatsoever, but the fact of the matter is, the fight is at a weight class, not at a catchweight. that already makes this situation different than the pac-cotto fight...

cotto proposed the 145lb catchweight, bushbaby can't say he was drained(as if it wasn't obvious enough he wasn't)

Can you lay blame at Manny but not at Andre, I find it hard to believe you can, unless you apply double standards.

I seen numerous posters criticise Pacquiao for his fights against, Cotto, Margarito, and for wanting the 2nd fight against Cotto at 147 lbs, but very few people criticise Ward for not fighting Dawson at 175 lbs

If anything Pacquiao should be criticised less.

After all he had already rose up through 8 weight class and could not reach the weight limit of the division he was fighting in and he gave away weight advantages in the ring against Marg and Cotto.

Ward on the other hand is a big super middle and can easily make the light-heavy limit.

Margarito was a carrer welter and was very comfortable at 150 lb.
Cotto a former light-wetler and only had to weigh in 1 lb less than his previous fight.

Dawson on the other hand is a career light-heavy, definitely not small at the weight but now has to drop 7lbs to face a top p4p fighter.

So can you crticise Pacquiao but not Ward and not show blatant double standards?

          Poll Coming!!!
          1. 168 is not a catchweight
          2. dawson is still in his prime and he can make 168 you should have no problem with it
          3. yes you can criticise pac for fight at 150 for a jmw belt vs toney

Pacman wanted the fight at 143, Cotto would go no lower than 145. Don't call my name if you can't comprehend.

168 is an actual weight class. 145 or 150 isn't. If Ward was fighting for Dawsons titles at 168 I'd agree with you. But Ward's titles are on the line.

is it seriously that hard to read and comprehend something?

yes i would have no problem with them if it was not a title fight

I don't care who asked for what, because in that case Dawson said he'd fight at 168, doesn't mean I have to accept or like it.

And I would go on to say in that post that another reason I disliked that fight was because it was pointless at that time, but that you can't knock Pac for taking it because it made him a mega-star. The Cotto CW fight wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. He had to come in 1 lb less than his prior fight.

And I know it wasn't at a CW, it was at the WW limit. Still didn't like it because Oscar hadn't been there in so long, and because it was a pointless fight. Ward-Dawson is at least a good fight right now, would have been way better at a CW or at 175 though.

Ward should have just fought him at 175, means much more to his resume if he'd done that.
