Can Boxing Fans criticise Pacquiao for his catchweight fights and accept that Ward

is bring Dawson down to 168 lbs to fight him?

Can you lay blame at Manny but not at Andre, I find it hard to believe you can, unless you apply double standards.

I seen numerous posters criticise Pacquiao for his fights against, Cotto, Margarito, and for wanting the 2nd fight against Cotto at 147 lbs, but very few people criticise Ward for not fighting Dawson at 175 lbs

If anything Pacquiao should be criticised less.

After all he had already rose up through 8 weight class and could not reach the weight limit of the division he was fighting in and he gave away weight advantages in the ring against Marg and Cotto.

Ward on the other hand is a big super middle and can easily make the light-heavy limit.

Margarito was a carrer welter and was very comfortable at 150 lb.
Cotto a former light-wetler and only had to weigh in 1 lb less than his previous fight.

Dawson on the other hand is a career light-heavy, definitely not small at the weight but now has to drop 7lbs to face a top p4p fighter.

So can you crticise Pacquiao but not Ward and not show blatant double standards?

But Ward is completely right in bring down Dawson 7lbs.

Didn't Dawson call him out and offer to come down to 168?

I thought that was common knowledge. I think D4 is just having "one of those" moments.

Dawson said "I want the best. I want Andre Ward. I can make 168.".

              And 168 isn't a catchweight.

              Damn, man...

                Yes he did.

Hell of a difference when the athlete can safely make the weight as opposed to being dangerously drained for the sake of advantage.

                Rubbish post.

                Sorry, forgot.

                  This isn't a catch-weight fight.

They are fighting at a real weight class and it was Chad's idea.

So Pacquiao should have made Cotto come down to 140lbs to fight him, that would have been better?
