In the first fight he was 5/6 rounds after the first 6 rounds and hit Marg with everything.

The damage Pac did to Marg's eye was crucial to Cotto's 9th round stoppage.

Cotto pushed Marg round much more in the 2nd fight, he was much more experienced.

The eye thing is difficult to substantiate. Presumably you feel Margarito would have cornered Cotto were it not for the eye. I'm not so sure, I think AM was up against a better prepared fighter the second time around, healthy eye or not.

It's pretty clear that he had the plaster by the pics Cotto had and the state of his face in the first fight.

nothing is clear. im not saying he didnt. but with or without plaster. if his eye wasnt messed up I bet cotto would have folded like a lawn chair. Cotto hates pressure

I agree. He was clinching whenever Marg got in close this time around and walking him back. In the first fight he just covered up and let Marg pound on him, then he'd scamper away

I think Cotto may still have won if he had fought the way he did in the rematch. But in no way does that let Margarito off the hook for cheating, if he didn't have cement in his gloves, the punches would not have effected Cotto as much. So no, they are not 1-1 Margarito most likely cheated and came up flat against his next 3 opponents.

Cotto was much better tactically, the eye just made it easier for Cotto and was the reason for the stoppage.

Cotto had learned from the first fight, Marg doesn't learn.

actually Marg orbital bone had gotten messed up in sparring. they shouldnt have let him fight until it was fully healed. Pac just finished what was started in sparring

I'm aware, but Cotto throwing right hands into it for half an hour is likely to have done some lasting damage. Imo Margarito is crazy if he gets in the ring again but he probably will.
