Washed up or past prime? A past prime "great" fighter should be able to beat two average fighters. Floyd Mayweather Jr is past prime, and his best weight class IMO was 130 and has been boxing pro since 1996, that's 16 years. Would it be a good excuse to say Floyd is past prime and is several divisions past his prime weight, if he loses to such an average fighter like Miguel Cotto?
Ali, you're comparing what happened to a 28 year old Morales to what happened to a 38 year old Ali[Whatever age he was, i'm sure it was late 30s]. And if you wanna talk about "Well look at the wars blah blah blah" Ali was hit hard by freaking Joe Frazier, George Foreman, etc.
Again, Leonard, a guy who was like 36 years old when he lost to Norris.
Ali and Leonard lost those fights at an age older than even the CURRENT Erik Morales.
I'm not even dissing Erik Morales, I said he's a very good fighter. The excuses though, the same "The wars he's been in". Man, these high numbered records mean nothing for more than the first half of their career. They pad up that record real nice.
All I know is Juan Manuel Marquez, who I believe is an actual great fighter. Even with his lack of defense, old age, wars he's been....would NOT lose to such average fighters like David Diaz or Zahir Raheem. Because he's actually GREAT.

I would say this that Raheem might have given Morales trouble anyway. Because, of his stile and TBH Raheem wasn't a bad fighter. Just caught bad breaks. It happens, but Morales was not only past prime but also not in his best division.
