I dont know man. . . Yeah, you're right, he's definitely better than Trinidad. Oscar - maybe. . . Oscar fought everybody, and NEVER got "his ass handed to him" aside from pac; even against the much larger Hopkins he held his own until he got KO'd. . . . He beat Mosley twice IMO, beat Trinidad, Sweet Pea. . But ok, I'l say he's better than Oscar, its close enough. MAb beat him twice, though? Not to mention his exposure of NAZ. . . But once again, close enough. . . Lennox Lewis, though? I gotta stand firm in defense of Lewis being better than Morales. . .

As far as Marquez, I think he's definitely better than Morales as well. .. He's arguably beaten Pacquiao THRICE. MOREOVER, he's still got some good fights left in him. . . Morales is pretty much done now - while fought his ass off against Maidana, I thought it was a close, but pretty clear win for Maidana. . .


So for fairness sake, I'll say Morales is around 7-9th best boxer of this generation.

Wow, man really? I respect you as a poster, and respect your opinion; I'm just giving my perspective. . .

I think Oscar beat Shane Mosley both times; first fight maybe not, some roudns were too close. . . but second fight? I score it 7-5 Oscar everytime. . . .

But that's cool.. You seem pretty set in stone about this. . Just trying to have a discussion on where I think Morales belongs in the hierarchy of fistic greatness.

I just don't see how Oscar won the first Mosley fight. I just can't see it. If that's the case then Whitaker, Quartey and Tito all beat Oscar. Because, those 3 are more debatable than Oscar-Mosley first fight. That was as you clear as you could get.

It was close and competitive ala Morales-Pacquiao first fight. But, just like Morales-Pacquiao there was one clear winner and not even debatable.

BTW, did you know he cherry picked Mosley. The thing with Oscar is that he fooled a lot of people. A lot of people who were not watching boxing back then...The newer fans look at boxrec and see names and they get impressed without really knowing what was going on at the time.

Mosley was a big underdog going in. Because, he wasn't really proven at WW and was considered small who skipped at the 140 division. At that time you know how people looked at Berto before Ortiz. That was like Mosley going into the first Oscar fight. When Mosley beat Oscar it was a big upset. And, then Oscar didn't want a rematch until Mosley lost twice to Forrest and looked like crap against Marquez. So Oscar tried to cherry pick him again. It was actually quite funny during those times.

I disagree. I think out of the 3 Mexican musketeers he comes in 3rd. At best he would be #2 behind Morales though. But, I rank both Morales and Barrera over JMM. However, JMM closed that gap tremendously with the 3rd Pac fight.
