Gamboa doesn't say that he hasn't, he says he just wants his contract to be better for him. He also says that he is very happy with the Rios fight and the terms were very satisfactioy. This seems contrary to the reports that he says he never agreed to the fight. Anyway, Top Rank is prepared to show documents that prove that he agreed. Why would they otherwise take a chance on a fickle-minded fighter by spending lots of money on the PR conferences etc. They'll sue, and could tie him up until his newly signed contract runs out. And they'll be able to still claim pecuniary losses. So Gamboa can lose both ways.
His lawyer is newly on the job, and just saying feel-good legalese to justify and perhaps enlarge his fees which he is already counting in his head.
