Canelo needs to look at his resume and step up his comp. Why aim for one of the pound 4 pound best in Floyd when he should be proving himself. Hell, he hasn't even proven he's on Cotto's level up to this point. And don't be a ****ing hypocrite Canelo cus you and your team ultimately chose Shane Mosley over other solid opponents that GBP could have easily arranged Lara, Molina, Kirkland, Angulo, K9, Sergei, Delvin, Vanes, Trout etc. Shane Mosley who hasn't won a ****ing fight in over 3 years! And the sad part is that is your toughest fight yet, what a disgrace of a so called WBC Champion!

you cant be serious..Lets see how Canelo does againts someone decent not a shot fighter but a good legit fighter, like Kirkland or P will, someone who still has some fight in them, Shane Mosely shouldnt even be fighting anymore in my opinion.

          lmao

Even now, Cotto, who's seen better days, beats Alvarez. And Mayweather? Please....

This kid Alvarez is really buying his own hype. "Canelo" better have his "A" game working against Mosley. I think he takes Shane, but it's not a lock. That speaks volumes....

LOL by far one of the ******est posters on the NSB. Canelo stiffest fight yet was against Alfonso Gomez that in itself should tell you something.

Cotto is a way better fight than Canelo right now, this kid is starting to sound like Guerrero. What's funny is that either way, if Canelo fights Kirkland first or lands a Mayweather bout first, he's going to get his a$$ handed to him.

Cotto beating Yuri Foreman is still better than anything Canelo has done at 154. Cotto at 154 was B+ fight for Floyd, and important for Floyd to get him on his resume while he's still good.

If Canelo really wants a Mayweather fight in 2013, he better step up after Mosley. Fight two more times in 2012 against some people like Kirkland, Vanes, Trout, Delvin, Angulo, even Paul Williams.

What are you basing your analysis on? What has Canelo been proven against? He has been fighting C level fighters and washed up B level fighters his whole career, including his "title" reign. His biggest wins were against Baldo and Kermit, fighters at the end of their careers that were not competitive in their previous string of bouts. You will not find any young, competitive and upcoming contenders on his resume.

                    Canelo:
Punching power, ring generalship, timing: above average.
                    Defense, chin, intangibles: average.
Hand speed, foot speed, technique: below average.

This is against sub par comp. Floyd and Cotto are battle tested and proven commodities. Canelo is unproven so how he gives Floyd serious problems or decapitates Cotto is comical at best.

I don't think any of that is necessary. Alvarez is an undefeated, hyped-up young fighter with a Mexican fan-base. Floyd would be happy to lump him up in the absence of Manny. The only guy that can truly challenge Mayweather now, in my opinion, is Pacquiao. Everyone else is merely plausible....
