If Cotto beats Pacquiao does he ranked above Mayweather?

Should Cotto re-match Pacquiao and win, he would rank above Mayweather in the top fighters of his generation.

Cotto would have beating every fighter he has ever faced and he would have faced a higher standards of than Mayweather. Cotto may have lost two fights but those fights would be avenged

Apart from Mosley, who was in much better condition when he fought Cotto, Miguel has done better against common opponents as well.

Miguel has never avoided any challenge, doesn't take vacations and always willing to test himself.

Should Cotto win the rematch, if it happens, will Miguel Cotto rank higher than Floyd Mayweather in the top fighters of his generations

    Poll coming
    96
    Miguel Cotto
    28.13%
    27
    Floyd Mayweather
    71.88%
    69

    The poll is expired.

From a public standpoint, I'd say no simply because Floyd's undefeated record would be at the forefront.

But, Cotto then would be lined up for a fight with Mayweather (which I have Floyd favored in). He beats Cotto and then it becomes "He beat the guy everyone thought I'd lose to".

Pretty much how it would go (from a Cotto fan's perspective).

Why not he would have beating everyone he has ever fought and he would have beating a higher level of opponents than Mayweather and against common opponent he has done better on a whole.

What reason is there to rank Mayweather higher.

          No man haha.

Floyd has faced pretty solid competition as well and it's pretty plain to see that he's a superior fighter.

Floyd's resume is underrated....but resume isn't even everything. When you have two comparable resumes and it's clear one fighter is superior to the other, not to mention is undefeated, it shouldn't be difficult to see who ranks higher.

I can imagine they would downrank Pac to #5, put Cotto at #4, then Nonito, Martínez, and Floyd on top.

are we counting 130 and 135 for Floyd or did you just mean 147-154?

Cotto has done better against common opponents. And Cotto's resume is better.

I've yet to see anyone give me reasons why Floyd's resume is better?

                    No sir. Not a chance.

                    As of right now, Mayweather's run @ 130 > Cotto's whole career.

Cotto has a lot of catching up to do. But it would be a good start.
