mosley didn't have a belt when cotto beat him but he did when floyd beat him so the mosley that floyd beat is better right? what about when cotto beat clottey who just got stripped of his ibf belt. was he not championship material? was judah who just lost but got to keep his belt anyway a real champion?

Shane Mosley resume going into the first Oscar fight is/was the equivalent of Andre Berto resume. Pretty equal and similar.

That's how weak Mosley resume was before fighting Oscar. That's why when Oscar fought Mosley at that time it was considered a cherry pick on Oscar part. Hence why it was a pretty big upset.

And, not only that is what you do and who you defend the title against is more important than who you beat or if you won it vacantly or not.
This would be a valid point, but he didn't even beat good opponents(IMO). Cotto won two belts by beating Cesar Bezan and Yuri Foreman. Carlos Quintana was the only solid fighter he beat for a belt. He had a few solid defenses, but trying to say he has a better resume then Floyd is laughable, IMO.

How dare you. How dare you forget the likes of Eduardo Morales, Golden Johnson and the ever great John Brown.

And you know what the cool thing is? He beat all of these fighters by KO!!! Gasp.

Berto's resume is probably better at this point than Mosley's Lightweight resume.

              Mosley -GOAT Lightweight baby!

And struggling with Phillip Holiday at that.

IMHO, I believe Stevie Johnston would've boxed circles around Mosley @ 135.

Mosley was a phenomenon, everyone knew how good Mosley was. Cherry pick? don't think so.

Mosley has been beating up Oscar since they 12 and 10.

I don't remember where Mosley was ranked when Cotto fought him, but I do know Mosley was the lineal champion when Floyd fought him. Mosley was coming off one the best performances of his career. Was he a better fighter? I doubt it, but he was ranked at the top of his division.

Many people thought Clottey beat Cotto. But for the record, I put Clottey in the same category as Zab Judah. He was never an elite fighter and always found a way to lose fights.
